hi,

i'm currently using ags 2.7.1 with wine under linux. it seems to work very well. but actually when i try to edit a script i only see squares instead of letters.

having searched for a solution in last few hours, i think it's a missing font, but i couldn't figure out which one is used within script-editor.

it would be great, if anyone could give me an advice to this.

thanks

The AGS Editor uses Tahoma, Microsoft Sans Serif and Courier New. The latter one is used in the script editor, I believe.

well: running notepad i found courier new seems to work. that's somehow weird. ms sans serif works too, but i don't have tahoma installed... i'll try to find and install it and then report my results.

thanks

Edit:

i installed tahoma and it works fine within notepad, but it seems, that some fonts are installed, but don't diplay well (also only squares):
courier
opensymbol
system

Do you mean they don't even work in Notepad?

For the record: What Linux distro do you use? How do you install the fonts?

I'll check my Linux box when I get back home tomorrow to investigate.

i use gentoo, but installed wine by hand from cvs (runs more apps than wine from portage).

yes, they don't even work in notepad.

i installed tahoma by copying it to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts, but it's the only font in this directory. i think the other fonts are located in /usr/share/fonts/corefonts/, but i'm not that sure.

there are some .ttf files in the wine-cvs directory (courier.ttf, system.ttf, ...), but copying them to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts doesn't work. when i copy all these fonts, some that were working before also crash... that's really strange.
