EDIT:
I want to reserve the van early to prevent later surprises.Ã, I will need to know how many people are coming to determine the size of the van.Ã, So if you need a ride, PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY JUNE 11TH!Ã, After that, I can't guarantee there will be room for you.
Can you come pick me up in Iowa? :-p
When is it? Also, Evanwolf, are you funna go, coz if so we should go together.
I'd love to, but I'm not coming, and I'm not 16... And I don't enter enter cars driven by strange sweaty men. Well, unless they have candy... ;D
had to be 18 to go anyway, Haddas :P
Oops. I meant I was not 18. Sorry
You have to be 18 to go to mittens? Its not as if Im going, but that just sucks.
Vel, I don't think eric wants to be responsible for younger people. 18 and over normally means people are responsible for themselves. In America, I think it's wise to have the age 18 limit.
There wasn't such a thing last year, was there?
Different laws in different countries, but we've (I've) been over this before, simply, the US being the backward country it is, you are a minor until you are 18
Well, sucks to not be me then. HAW!
Since I will arrive in NYC, by myself, and probably will experience a confusion the likes of which you could start a lesser sit-com about, I'd certainly appreciate a ride.
I'll return with dates and such.
I'm in the exact same situation as Andail.
I'll be arriving in to NY with CJ, AGA and Mods so we're all going to be part of the lift possie. I'll send an email as soon as I can, but if there's going to be lots of us we could all chip in and rent a minibus or something?
Poor silly Britons.. Rent a minibus? In New York? Do you have thousands of dollars?
If I end up going, I'll be in the same situation as Andail and Remo, because there's no way in hell I'm flying directly to Albany.
There's a good chance I won't be able to go, much to my chagrin. I still say all of us Southwest people should have our own. It will be called Scarves.
Is there even such a thing as a minibus in the US? Are you talking about a van? Definitely quite a bit of moo-la, but I don't know if a VAN would cost thousands. A small bus would...
Also remember which airport you're coming into (La Guardia, Kennedy, Newark), cause like London (Heathrow--Standsted), they're in some cases an hour or more apart.
I'd REALLY like to come, and if I do, I could also offer to pick people up at an airport, but i'm job hunting, and a lot could change in the next couple of months...

Just rent a pickup and chuck everyone in the back.

Illegal, impractical, and you think people would want to be seen driving through New York City in the back of a pickup truck?

Heh, I could be up for it. I live in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
Since I can't come, can I buy any AGS merchandise from somewhere? A blue cup? An AGS T-shirt? AGS stickers?
I was almost sure not going to mittens because:
- I must pass my final grades.
- The trip would be too long (Benidorm-Madrid (4 hours) + flight + ride from NJ to Albany vicinities...).
If the final ride can be made with friends that should be an appreciated change and I could attend... BTW, I will decide after my exams.
I insist that both Pesty and Farlander come. If not, I will make an official complaint.
I planned on renting a van or somesuch, which can usually fit around 10ish. Hiring a bus just isn't practical, since you need to hire a driver as well.

:)
I'll do my best... I want to see the friends again! :D
Didn't you won 100 dollars?
I've booked and payed my flight. I'll arrive at 15:15, a half hour earlier then the Brits so I can just make my way to their terminal and wait for them. 8) (are those smileys different or do I need glasses)
I won 400 bucks!
I've been told that I can save them for some other mittens edition, but the idea of 10 agsers in a van driven by Dave Gilbert is appealing me more and more each second passes...
when exactly is it happening? I will be in NY from around the 16th to the 10th of june. I hope I hope I hope it is around that time

It's still not impossible for me to go and I'm trying my hardest to get out there. Here's hoping I somehow get the money for the ticket!

Screen 7 can pay 400$ in advance...
Hey Davis, this is evenwolf.Ã, I check the general forum often, but not this one - so send me a message if you ever have another question.Ã, Ã, I plan to go to mittens but I haven't made arrangements, so we could totally do that.
Dave-Ã, thanks for the great offer.Ã, Question:
1. When do the UK AGSers arrive?Ã, I could set my travel arrangements to match theirs. Then if Davis comes too, that adds two to the list.
We touch down at 2:15 pm (I think), but that's not taking into account waiting for the baggage and having a paranoid customs officer interrogate the lot of us.
This is going to be an extreme culture shock!

Just mutter "I've got a bomb" under your breath, that'll speed the whole process up...
I know someone who bought a used schoolbus for $400.
EDIT: I won't be able to go, so I don't know why I mentioned this. :-[
Right-o. I edited the first post with the lost of folks who have confirmed, or are definite "maybes." If you're going, check the list and please make sure you're on it. :)
I have now booked my tickets.
Alas, I arrive first at 6 pm, which is long after the brits...I don't know how big a stretch Mr Gilbert's taxi service can make, I'll just cross my fingers

Hm, that's a good point actually. Could everyone who's coming to NYC tell me what time they are arriving? It's a 4+ hour drive to Albany, so I'd prefer to leave earlier than later.
Where can I find out when it be? I gotta PM Evanwolf and hook up with his fine ass, too. I'm such a procrastinator.

Hi all,
I still need to know what time you all are arriving, and where. I know that the brits are arriving around 2ish, but I don't know from which airport. Send me the deets, peeps.
Kennedy.

Kennedy.
AGA appears not to know the meaning of the word "from" unless Kennedy is the name of Swansea Interntaional Airport... :P
Coming from Heathrow.
Kennedy is the name of an airport, silly. :-p
And Dark Stalkey, what airport are you landing in?
Kennedy.
Yes, wires seem to have been crossed here. We're all flying out from Heatrow Airport, and arriving at John F. Kennedy Internation Airport of Mystery and Intrigue (which is what AGA is refering to with the word Kennedy for all the scottish super heros out there that got confused by it :P)
I'll PM you with exact details of the flight, Dave, to save any further confusion...
Bear in mind Andail's flight doesn't get in until 6pm - can we arrange things to take that into account?
If nobody else minds waiting around until 6pm, I'll be happy to wait.Ã,Â
On another note, I want to reserve the van early to prevent later surprises. I will need to know how many people are coming to determine the size of the van. So if you need a ride PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY THE END OF NEXT WEEK! (june 11th). After that, I can't guarantee there will be room for you.
Well, I arrive at 6 pm in Kennedy, and yes, I would still appreciate getting a ride with your van, although I can't demand that you wait that long.
I can't imagine it'll be too much hassle to wait. I for one will be knackered anyway so it'll give us some time to have a quick nap somewhere :)
JFK is not even an hour away from manhatten. We could hang out in the center.
(I feel like a jetsetter already)

I wasn't confused: it's just that Dave asked where they were flying FROM, not TO and I was trying to humiliate AGA by pointing this out. Which backfired. ::)
As do all attempts to undermine me. SO JUST DON'T TRY!
If only I could come to NYC with you :( But it's "a bit" impossible to do it as I'm just 15 and a student.
Count me in for the Mittens Wagon.
