the great escape was written by me using LASSIE, the intension was to do a AGS version but due to a BIG computer problem i lost the resource files :-[

this is the beta version and has a few sprite problems (transparency glow on inv items) and character animation needs fine tuning but it works!

it was a test game to see what LASSIE was like to use and its ok, lacks a lot of features AGS has,, but AGS would take some beating anyway ;) big benifit for LASSIE in the future is it will create online games (it does now but projects need compiling by the LASSIE owner)

looks really nice. how do you play, though. i started a game, and there is a cursor on the screen and hotspots, and an inventory at the bottom. but it seems i cannot interact with anything. i tried double-clicking, right-clicking and left-clicking on all the hotspots?
am i doing something wrong?

you just hold the left mouse button down and you get a disc pop up.. like in the curse of monkey island

I tried to move the plate again and the Ladder dissapeared! Also, i couldnt figure out what to do with the battery at the bottom of the pit and how to put the Det. with the bomb.

Thanks. Very nice game. Some of your hotspots become misslabeled after using them though. Like the plate becomes "plate 2" after you move it. and the Car become "car1"

EDIT: 'Effin Brilliant. Thats it. Love the ending.

and thanks for pointing out the hotspots.. the game was kinda a learning thing the next game will be a lot better ;)
