I remember I was logged into the PQ scenario, driving around and exploring, when suddenly another car appeared, which was scary, since I'd never really seen anyone else in the game before. I chased him around Starsky and Hutch style for a while. We never spoke.

GOA crashed on my computer yesterday. I'll not go again.

And in the site says GOA is dead.

Completely off-topic, but I recognise you! At least, if you're the person that made Naturette, that is :)

First time I've seen one of the AGI crowd around here.

The open source to GOA was just released, although only for singleplayer. It's great if you want people to play an adventure game without having to download anything (unless they have outdated IE or Mozilla). Only problem is that the program was basically a fancy chatroom and not much for actual adventuring. There were some parser commands that functioned, and you could play a couple of the AGI minigames, but you didn't have an inventory and there were no puzzles to solve.

Hopefully now though, that the program's source is released, people can find a way to not only code inventory and score systems, but bring back the multiplayer chat aspect, which if you ask me, made this program so superb. Far better than The Palace or other crappy avatar chats.

I don't know Javascript but there are people who do who are experimenting with it right now, so who knows? Right now functionality has increased to SCI actors and environments and SCUMM is right around the corner. It's no AGS but at least the groundwork would already be laid out for people.

Hey! I just went on, and there were people everywhere! Tonnes of people!  Thousands of people having sex and making babies, and some of the babies looked like my mother! And they ate things that looked like turbine engines made of jelly, and...

hang on...

...er, looks like I'm actually asleep at the moment.  Ignore all that.

Woah! That's pretty awesome, and bspeers? Are you feeling okay?

Anyone I've been on there like 5 times a day now and there's never anyone on.

But it's pretty cool, let me tell you that!

Playing currently, there was another person online with me, but seemed to not like me much. I was being friendly, but this person didn't seem to care for me being online.

But, i think its really cool anyways.

Yeah. That's me.

Have you tried Naturette IV demo yet? It's in AGS  this time.
So you can see Naturette in 256 colours.

Just wanted to mention that they're going to be adding inventory support very soon. So now puzzles will be possible... obviously this software is nowhere near as feature packed as AGS but if you want to have an online adventure game.. this is definitely the best tool for that.

They're also trying to figure out how to reintegrate online chat and being able to see other players in the open source (open source has no multiplayer)... at the least, chatting with people will be returned in some format (possibly just IRC). This stuff isn't exactly hard to do in javascript.

It's pointless to expect people to still hang out in the GOA.com game. They want you to put this engine on your own site.

lol. Yeah, I did that as a little easter egg, but I'll be adding to it as people add features to GOA. More than two rooms, certainly.

Ideally I'd like it to be the official site chatroom, so hopefully they get at least some IRC functionality, even if they don't get multiplayer adventuring re-integrated.

It'd be awesome if GOA would have a direct chatroom link on the AGS frontpage

Well, I meant my webpage, but yeah. AGS having a GOA chatroom would be awesome. You can throw in various GOA characters and backgrounds.. it'd be sweet.
