I was bored and made a screensaver with screen shots of some adventure games from the net ..
The scr  is virus free as I made it and I don't do things like that to people .
you can download it  here
enjoy .

Oh ya if you don't want the music to play you can mute it   in the settings.

that good huh ?

ElectricMonk

Can't download, it keeps timing out :(

Oh well, I'll try again later. I like the idea a lot,

Looks like the free host went down so grab it here .
should work here for you .

ElectricMonk

Download worked... but installing didn't. All the installer did was create a file named "Uninstal.exe" in my Windows directory (something, btw, which I find a bit dangerous), and no other .scr or .exe file.

BruisedWeasel

I had the same problem as electricmonk. Had the uninstall, but couldn't find the screensaver itself.

Candle

well I just upload the src and not do the installer for the src .. sorry about that ..

No problem. I'd actually prefer having just the .scr file without any baggage.

Candle

scr now .. links are fixed .. :)

ElectricMonk

Works! ;D Very nice work.

Two suggestions though:

Firstly, you might want to mix the screenshots more for variety, not a bunch of Sam & Max followed by a bunch of Maniac Mansion, followed by a bunch of Grim Fandango...

Secondly, and this is more a request if you ever do a second screensaver: More classic games please! Monkey Island 1, Zak McKracken, some of the old Sierra "Quest" games, the original Larry... in general, more old school stuff rather than Indiana Jones in 3D....

Still, I'll probably keep this one around for a while. Thanks for making it.

Candle

I NEED PICTURES !!!! where can I get the pictures of the ones  you want and all make it ..
:)
I can mix them up I was lasy on the last one and didn't do it .. lol

ElectricMonk

Normally I'd say play the games and then hit ALT + PRINT to copy the screen to the clipboard, and then paste it into your favourite graphics program from the "Edit" menu, but I'm not sure if that works with the old DOS games.

Google image search might be another way...

BruisedWeasel

Thank you.

I'd love to see a dos compatible version, if you would ever like to spend the time.

Well most of those game I don't have so someone would need to do the screen grab  and get the pictures to me .
BruisedWeasel
All look around and see about dos screen savers and see if I can do one as I have never done one before.

BruisedWeasel

That's very generous of you, candle.

What is the Dos screensaver  name  scr ? would you know what they name it ?

BruisedWeasel

I've no idea. I haven't had a dos screensaver since '96, and I didn't keep the disk it came on.

Candle

Well i download one from the net and it looks like they were just exe files so all see what i can do but all look a little more into it .

The screensaver has been updated , I made it random now so it won't show two in a row unless it does it on it's own . lol

13 downloads ,, come on did you hate it . lol

Candle

If anyone would like a screensaver of their own game just zip up some pictures of the game and if you want some music with it put that to in it and let me know where to get the zip ..
