AdventureJam 2018 has been running in the last couple of weeks, and the games are now out! Thought it might be good to have a place to discuss stuff.
There are a bunch of AGS people / games involved too!
- Grundislav is one of the four judges (http://jams.gamejolt.io/advjam2018/judges-and-categories)
- Ramp It Up (http://jams.gamejolt.io/advjam2018/games/rampitup/340651) by Space Quest Historian and Pesty

Maybe more that I've missed?
There are
67 games in total to play! http://jams.gamejolt.io/advjam2018/games
dkh and I (along with Howie Day, who I don't think is an AGS member, but I could be wrong) made For a Brief Flicker (https://gamejolt.com/games/ForABriefFlicker/340842)! We ran out of time to do what we wanted to, but had a fun time joining in and have discussed making a more complete version. This is my first go at 3D character animation!

Wow, great looking entries, I need to give them a try.
dkh hasn't been around here for ages - I hope he is doing fine?
I voiced the main character for this entry - http://jams.gamejolt.io/advjam2018/games/crosspurposes/340843 - but it looks like the dev is battling to overcome a major bug before putting the build back up. (Thought he'd gone very quiet on Twitter!)
Well done to everyone who entered. Brief Flicker! looks fun.
Yeah, those damn bugs... we need better bug control! (laugh)
I didn't enter as Hobo is to conscious about quality ;)
But I made a longplay of a unity game 8-0

these color just caught my eye, and it's quite fun and that voiceacting is cool...
I tried playing For a Brief Flicker! but this slows my machine down so much it's still playable but no fun to play :P
did you write your own unity adventure engine for this?
Cross Purposes is now fixed - https://gamejolt.com/games/crosspurposes/340843
There's a version with and without the VA. Chose without if you don't like my voice! (laugh)

It felt like there was a lot more buzz this year than in previous years but as it turned out, the number of entries is WAY down. I wonder what happened? Possibly a lot more people collaborating could have been a factor, but that doesn't quite explain it.
The games are rated and awarded, Aye Fair Lady won, I didn't like it though, too much singing ;)
I played another one of the games:

Thanks for posting about the jam Privateer Puddin'! And thanks again for doing a playthrough of my game selmiak! Claude and the Phantom (https://pilchard.itch.io/claude-and-the-phantom) came in at #3 overall and scored well on art, dialogue and puzzles. It's not really about the rankings, but I focused on the art style a lot this time, and I'm particularly happy people have responded to that.
Lots of great games this year - one of my favourites was Where Others Lie (https://gamejolt.com/games/wheresotherslie/340845) by xil/calicoreverie. I wrote about the first bunch of games from the jam that I tried on my blog here (https://pilchardgames.wordpress.com/2018/06/05/adventurejam-2018-roundup/) - all of those are well worth playing! There are other interesting games I've since discovered, like While Dreaming (https://gamejolt.com/games/whiledreaming/340684). Once again it's been a really inspiring jam and community.
