I'm working on my first AGS game, which would be a surrealistic/mystery game in the style of Lemony Snicket or David Lynch, but with the trademark comedy touch of 1990s Lucas adventures. The plot would involve a certain Macguffin, so i wanted a little advice from you guys... What are the most unusual/uncommon Macguffin items you could think of? Something along the lines of the E-ticket from Monkey Island, or the Sugar Bowl from Lemony Snicket's books, or the Winslow from Phil Foglio's comics.

some ideas, please make one of these:

* invent a virus to infect and kill all humanity
* invent an antivirus against someone inventing a virus to infect and kill all humanity
* become a pirate and find the secret of donkey island
* find a way to afford breast implants for your rather unsuccessfull pornstar girlfriend.
* find a sheep that ran away from you and guide it to the slaughterhouse
* find creepy ingredients to summon a demon to possesss your mean boss/cheating gf/other

Check the SCP foundation for any safe-class objects. I would not recommend looking into Keter-class.

Actually, it was you :P

I already have a (more or less) coherent plot, I just want ideas for some crazy object that could be sought after, like the 3 golden toltec skulls in the eponymous game, the Big Whoop treasure or Necrowombicon from penny arcade.

The 'Continuum Transfunctioner' from Dude Where's My Car and 'Big Whoop' From Monkey Island 2 (You already said that. Whoops!)

haha, ... oh well...

*leaves thread in shame and kicks random stones on the ground on the way out*

Yeppoh

- a left sided sole (since the eyes of that flatfish are usually on the right side)
- a 13 leaves clover
- a crystallized rainbow that is harder than diamond
- a kitchen knive inhabited by the spirit of a Master Chef
- a misprinted comic book whose even pages are on the right
...

I can go on all day. =D

Thanx, Nefasto  := I'd also like to mention that the game is heavily influenced by the Burroughs' "Nova Trilogy", as well as Robert Anton Wilson's books. It's pretty far from being an adaptation of any of those, but there are some references included.
