Now this is starting to piss me off! My machine crashed again while I was scripting on my game...Again after the reboot all sprites were gone!
My last backup is 5 days old, and i've been coding like hell in those 5 days...Now I have to start all over again from that backup...$#@#%^&!!
Ow ya don't have to react on this post...just had to get rid of agression...can't script while I'm this agressive ;))
Guess there no way to avoid those anoying error messages of missing sprites ? (Yeah...I know the answer)...
Well I feel better now...thanx for listening...
That's one of my biggest fears.
That's a shame, I know the feeling.
Another one of my pet hates is when I think, "Yes! Goddamn, I think I'll work on my game tonight!" and then you load AGS, script a couple of lines, run the game and realise you've created a bug you can't figure out.
:P

Dear lord, m0ds, I do that so much I practically work backwards! I'm like a lean mean scripting machine, running at full speed... backwards.
Yes, that reminds me. I'm going to back up BR right now. Right this very second.
Thank you.
Lean mean scripting machine. With nice ass.
Back ups are good. KaaZ - back up now!
These days, my fingers seem to find ALT + F + S every other minute, so I feel quite safe. Plus, I have FoY backed up on two PC's. So I feel uber safe. All I need now is an OS that doesn't crash. ;)

Lack of current backups is the reason my game no longer exists. The amount of work I lost was to great to even consider restarting :(
Dude, get a cd burner.... I don't really have a problem with my computer crashing and screwing up. But I do have this terrible habit of scripting like a whole goddamned page of dialoge or some really kickass script, and then selecting the "exit and discard" choise over the "save" one. Aaargh! It only takes a split second.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who fucks things up badly ;))
well I didnt lost any sprites on my machine just the imported sprites in the sprites manager luckily...which makes it impossible to code any futher as everyone knows ;)) Now 3 hours later after loads of copy pasting and a zillion clicks futher I'm getting closer to the point where everything went wrong...but still alot to do...could have been worse...the scripts were still there only the sprite manager was fucked up...and I just can't sleep before I restored everything back to it's old state ;)) I'll go back to it right away....still have to wait a few hours before I can finaly go to bed and it's allready 3:30 in the morning...Geez ;))
Cheers guys!
I remember this one time, at band camp, I'd made a game in RPGmaker, and my computer crashed, so I started over, and then I'd been making this mistake all the way along of not separating the files right, so it was 80mb and useless to all involved...
I guess the moral of this story is, read the fucking manual.
But that's unrelated to this thread. What I meant to say was this; I hate when I'm using Photoshop and it freezes, and I have to start over on a picture. Because with background as well, it's not just a case of scripting it over, or colouring it again... You gotta really put something as much originality and flare and style into it as you can, and when you have to do it three times in a row, you sort of lose your zest for life.
I remember this one time, when I upgraded my test game for a programme called Adventure Creat0r from V1.14 to teh equivalence of V2.04 of it. Then I use teh all new and sound "delete sprite" feature of it...

/me cries... :'(
This sort of thing almost NEVER happens to me, would you believe. That's because my computer is 10 years old so my left hand convulses about every 20 seconds to hit Ctrl-S.
I often save a word document twice before I start typing. It's a sickness really.
AGS backups everything (at least sprites) each time you save.
Go into your game dir (if you haven't saved again...), find this file: backup_acsprset.spr
and rename it to: acsprset.spr
Be careful though, backup acsprset.spr before you do this, if something might be wrong.
