Okie dokie!
I've written down 'almost' every game from 2003 for the AGS Awards:
http://www.sylpher.com/DGMacphee/list.htm
I say 'almost' for two reasons:
1) I may have missed other AGS Games and Demos released from 1 Jan 2003 to 9 Dec 2003 -- If I missed yours, please note down the name of the game, the type of game (Full, Demo, or Non-Adventure), and a link to the zip file.
2) I still have to list the games from 9 Dec 2003 to 31 December -- If you are about to release a game before 31 Dec 2003, just simply list it in the Announcement forum (Don't worry -- I'll note it down!)
Please note that games from previous years are obviously not eligible for the 2003 Awards -- Please check these pages if you are unsure if your game has been included in past years:
http://www.sylpher.com/DGMacphee/list2001.htm
http://www.sylpher.com/DGMacphee/list2002.htm
If everything is sweet, we can press on with the awards.
EDIT: If there's any mistakes on the list, please tell me.
please could Vegetable Patch Extreem Turbo be changed to be by "Captain Mostly & Squinky" since it was a team effort and I don't want him to be robbed of his credit!
(sorry about the petty-ness of the gripe!)
For both VGXT games, or just the first one?
Wow: Princess Marian III is listed despite being neither in the games page or announcements forum. DG must really be a fan! ;)
just three points:
1) Are you also going to be checking Games In Production for new demos, or do people need to notify you of those?
2) I think that, if the Discworld Interface system is going to be listed under non-games then all of Proskrito's (and others) game templates should be listed too, or templates and template-like things should have their own category.
3) Just a minor thing: The 01 & 02 pages have an HTML title, but the 03 list is "Untitled Document"
edit: I thought Squinky just helped with VPXT2?

The Princess Marion games were listed in the Announcement forum -- How else do you think I found them?
1) Yes, I'll also be scanning for new demos in the ext few weeks.
2) I couldn't find links to any other templates -- But now that I think about it, you can't really call a template a non-adventure considering that they're used in the construction of adventures. So what I'll do is leave the Discworld Interface up there for this year only (since it would be unfair to drop it from the list now) and disregard all future templates.
3) Who really gives a shit?
Vel:
I said post if you can't find your game or if I've made any mistakes -- If your game is there, DON'T POST.
Christ...
oops.
just the second one (he was nout to do with the first one... I just forgot the "2" in my other post!)

A quick forum search confirms that number III wasn't: therefore to know it's subtitle correctly, you must be a fan! Come out of the closet and admit it!
No worries -- updated!

Or maybe I just used my keen detective skills and thought "Hey, number one, two and four were posted! What about three?"
Then maybe I checked your website, found three, wrote it down and called you an idiot for not posting it on the Announcement forum in the first place, which would have saved me the trouble.
Idiot.
Don't worry folks, he's gone a bit Aswan: he's in denial. Probably explains the double-posting, too ;D
and giving my games free publicity, too!
Want me to remove Princess Marion 3 from the list?
No?
Then, shut up.
Cause this really is the last thing I need after going through every single thread in both the Announcement forum and Games in Production forum.

It's like the bookmobile, but filled with ME! ;D
How the heck did you find THAT!? I forgot all about that thing.
I salute you Mr Super Spy DGMacphee!

What about the December MAGS games? Will they be included when the competition is over?
They surely will -- just make sure you post them in the Announcement forum where I can see them.
Yeah GinnyW, none of these games haven't been published yet and you can't nominate on games that haven't been released. How would that be? Not too good I take it. It's like include non-finished movies for the Academy Awards (How silly that would be, hahaha! ;D ;D ;D). Don't worry, AGS Awards ends later than the December MAGS, so cool it down.
please change add ghormak to the spellbound credits
thank you

I have a question. My Simpsons Demo was in the 2002 list.
This friday I should have a complete new (but short) game about the Simpsons called "Where's Maggie". Its a completely new game from my demo. Would this qualify?
Also, the old Demo(Springfield Woes) I made has been remade and has more rooms and more characters. Could this be renominated for the 2003 list?
JD
Both would qualify.
'Where's Maggie' would qualify in the full games.
The new demo would qualify -- you'll notice I included new versions of 'Ace Quest 2 Demo' and 'By The Sword Demo'.
This only applies if the demo is somehow changed dramatically.
Minor updates do not apply.
Adding a whole lot of new rooms and characters would count, so I'll add the new Simpsons Demo and I'll add 'Where's Maggie' when it's released.
DG: The release date for my demo is the 24th (Of this month). If I actually stay true to my word and actually make my release date, will it be eligible for the Demo AGS award?
Can I nominate Darth Mandarb's The House demo?
It's graphical splendour and innovative technical ideas deserve inclusion.
Alien Rape Escape was a team effort - scotch did most of the art, with help from Flippy_D. Alkaline also helped with something, although I can't remember quite what...
BerserkerTails: I'll include any demos released in the production forum up to the 31 December.
------------
James Kay: I could not find Darth's The House demo -- If he can provide a link for the game, I'll add it to the registration list.
At the moment you can't actually nominate the game -- I'm only registering game for nominations at the moment.
Also, you can only nominate it for the demo category.
---------
AGA: We'll wait till the nominations are released -- read on for why.
----------
Everyone, I know some games are team efforts, but right now I only need to know the main developer of the game i.e. the source.
I know I've changed a few team-effort games so far, but I can see I'm going to get a lot more, which is going to complicate the list and probably confuse a lto fo people.
What I'll do is this: I'll change all the team efforts when the nominations are over -- that way we have a set list of who's been nominated for what category and I can change it that way.
This has worked in the past, so I'll keep using this system.
DG, here is DM's House demo:
http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=8;action=display;threadid=10238
he just posted it last night. I second the nomination.
James Kay: Will there be a Devco Quest demo in time? ;) :P
No wonder I didn't find it if I compiled the list before he released the game.
I'll add it soon.
However, DO NOT post any more new additions from the Announcements and Games in Production forums to this thread.
If someone releases a game in the forums in the next few weeks, I will find it.
All I'm looking for (and I've made this very clear) is ANY GAME RELEASED BEFORE 9 DECEMBER 2003 i.e. any game from, say, January 2003 that I might have missed.
P.S. You're not nominating or seconding anything at this stage -- I am only compiling a list games so far.
The nominations will start on the 1st of Jan.

No. :(
I have a very good start and there is something up and running that is a good indication of what the final game will be like, but I'm not going to post it. Sorry.
Only when it's Beta will I provide a playable for people to enjoy/test for me. It'll be a short enough game as it is and I don't want to ruin the experience of the final product too early.
And I'm busy this week and next, and then I'll be visiting the home countries for Xmas. Don't expect anything at least until January, end of.
Besides, if I did, I recon TheHouse demo deserves a nomination more than DQ anyway. :)
Where the HELL are MY games, DG?!? Eh? What's you're problem??
And I didn't see Vel's game on there either!!7!
You damned assnut!
--Snake
Vel's games are there.
Trust me -- I've suffered enough shameless pimping to know his games are out there.
As for your games (and this is just a minor suggestion), have you ever thought about POSTING A FUCKING LINK before chastising me?
Who's the assnut now?
lol, you f00l :)
--Snake
That's it!
I'm removing all the games you released this year from the list cause you called me a fool!
PWND!!!!1!
I think that
SimBrothel 3069 : WhoreCraft - CUG
that is on the Non-Adventure Games should be ON the ADVENTURE Games list...
It's true that it is a mix between a strategy and adventure game, but most of the fundamental adventure components are there - besides the game is a riot, it's brilliant!!!
The games' description was a strategy game, so I placed it in the non-adventure.
However, if CUG want to put it in the Adventure section instead, he's more than welcome.
I can't find The McReed Case in the list... I didn't post a thead about it but I posted in the games index thead whatever on the Announcements forum...
Just browsing through the list, has Ignac 2 been released? And if so, what rock have I been hiding under?!
TK, I gathered all the games from the Announcement forum -- if it wasn't there, I wouldn't have got it.
I'll add it soon, just as long as the link to the zip file still works.
DS: I'll double check but I'm sure I found it in the Announcements forum.
Edit: Here it is -- http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=5;action=display;threadid=5174
Yeah, that was the april fools joke - since it's no longer downloadable and it was only a joke anyway, I'm not sure if it should be on the list (as it could then get confusing next year when Ignac 2 is actually released :) )
Oooh, I remember.
Doh, thanks for getting my hopes up!
Curse my stupid lack of game playing time!!!
Okay, I'll remove it.
Just making sure... is "The search for the christmas present" in the list this: http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=5;action=display;threadid=10503
If so, could you add REMAKE in the end of it in the list, because the original was released in 2002 and that REMAKE just a few days ago...?
What exactly did you remake in the game?
I remade the whole game, start it again from scratch, but kept the same idea as in the original.
So I think it's safe to say that it's a whole new game.
I'll play them both and decide later today.
EDIT: Although both contain the same story, the graphics have been revamped, the rooms are different, the ending is different and some of the puzzles have been changed.
So, I will allow both into the 2003 list.
Would Afro Jones (http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=8;action=display;threadid=10495) count, even though it's a non-playable demo?
I'm sure I already added it the new list, which is here:
http://www.sylpher.com/AGSAwards/reglist2003.htm
When I look at that list (Good jod by the way DG) I just feel totally non-productive....
How so?
Whelp, it's just that I was hoping to release more stuff this year...but thats life huh?
From the looks of the, you've got a lot to be proud of though.
I mean, you're associated with four games on the list.
That why I thought it was strange that you, of all people, felt sad from feeling unproductive.
Guess your right...
Just seems like more could be done with a whole damned year...heh...
Next year I'll do better eh?
/me quits job and works on ags 24/7
Just in case I was right about missing MRC in the list, here's the games db entry:
http://www.agsforums.com/games.php?action=detail&id=275
And the download:
http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/tk/McReedCase.zip
TK, added!
TheQisSilent , I added Afro Jones to the demo list -- yeap it counts.
Any unfinished AGS games count under the demo category.
Allrighty.
Cool. Thanks, DG.
