AGS can do everything

Monsieur OUXX

It's now possible to do this in AGS.

Isn't technology wonderful?

And AGS now being cross-platform, finally this is an answer to that old paradigm :

I don't know what I'm looking at.

But no. Unfortunately AGS is quite lacking in scripting features (I'd use Lua but I'm too stubborn to use that old-school looking language ha!).

Ponch

You won Solitaire! Hooray! \o/

Seriously, what am I looking at, Monsieur?

Armageddon

Rumpus Room.

Also AGS can't do amazing third person triple-A shooters with grey grit.

I trust you'll begin work on that module soon?

Monsieur OUXX

I've updated the first post to make it more explicit for those of you who don't lurk the Internet enough to know obscure memes.

I tried the last three hours trying to get AGS to do a backflip. Monsieur, AGS CAN'T do everything.  ;-D

But the mighty google can do it (at least a barrel roll): https://www.google.at/search?q=do+a+barrel+roll  :D

AGA

Not if you disable JavaScript, it can't!

Deal. I shall use only the powerful goo-gel to make adventure games in the future!

I've been maintaining for years that AGS is capable of anything, but no one wants to listen to a monkey.

Or...I guess it's equally possible that you all just hate my underscores. My loverly, loverly underscores. They accentuate my overtures so daintily.

That's because there's a hidden, implicit part in the sentence: "capable of anything without having to permanently re-invent the wheel and requiring insane workarounds". I guess we forgot to remove the [hidden ] tags around that bit. ;)

I have literally never seen or heard of an insane workaround. Ever. Anyone who disagrees is literally mentally handicapped. And probably gay.

Edit: I wonder how long it will take before a moderator removes that last bit and sends me a nasty PM about how that type of remark is neither appropriate nor tolerated on the AGS forums. My response to which would be to add it back, and include something about how ignorant atheists need to grow up and learn what satire is.

Crimson Wizard

monkey, you still playing a troll?

Snarky

Monkey, why don't you just cool it? You're just back; it would be good to see that you can participate in controversial debate without getting, as you say, butthurt and start trolling completely unrelated threads. (It might also lend some weight to your claim that your religion makes you a better person.) I'm not sure what you're hoping to gain by offering to get into a fight with the moderators, but you should reconsider.

Every time I argue with him that he's wrong about AGS being able to do something, he proves to me that he's right.

It makes toast. What the hell more could you possibly want?

Secret Fawful

No, it can't, you FRAUD. You TROLL. Only toasters make toast. Mario said so.

On topic:
we know AGS can't do many things but what it does, it does well. I personally love the power of GUI's.
Can we expect a faster engine in future versions (with all the code being re-coded? Is this the right term?).
If my question sounds silly, what I mean is that I find most ags games with some stuff going on the screen to be a bit slow visually. It shouldn't be like this because we are recreating 90's technology, and computers today are much faster. This is my ignorant idea of it.
I know there are modules to "tween" things around, but are we having in the future some smoother/faster graphics? I don't mean 3D, of course.
Working on a RON game!!!!!
