Great ! I was wondering when this one would come out :)
Will there be an online version on your website ?
Not on mine, no. Darth's the one who makes the web version.
Cool, it's funny that just today I was thinking what has happened to issue 9 of the zine. Downloading now.
Hey, this is the first time I am reading this magazine. It looks nice. Vel, how can we find the old issues of the mag.?(For example the one which includes the reviews of February MAGS :) )

You can see thier Ezine site over here: http://www.twin-design.com/agsezine/
though it appears that thier issues 1, 2, and 3 are not loading (it give's me "Object not found" errors for those issues).
Overall, it's a really nice site to check out.
Ã, Ã, Yes, I've tried that link before; but I couldn't reach the archives of the old issues.(got an error message.)
Ã, Ã, I have an entry for the Feb. MAGS (but it was a rotten game, because I hadn't much time to work on it.) , and I wonder if it was reviewed.
Yeah, sorry guys. I haven't gotten around to converting the earliest issues for the website yet.
I'm working on a newer design (similar) and trying to modular-ize the whole thing.
It's just a matter of having the time, which I usually don't.
I'll post a notice when it's all up and running.
Nice one Vel. And Iqu.
I havn't checked out mags in a while so could you tell the rules for the mags games that were in the issue next time.
And because there are now more then one person writing the e-zine, you may also give the name of the person who did the review. Unless Iqu is totaly okay with being Vel's ghostwriter.
I couldn't find Ezines 5, 6 or 7 anywhere (in PDF that is) so I made them myself. I could upload them if anyone's intrested?
Sorry that it took so long, you can get them here (http://www.geocities.com/gankkizztemp/index.htm).
Darth, when is the web version due to be uploaded?
Good read, as always. :)
Btw. I have issues 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 as PDF's on this computer, and I may be able to upload them at some point, in case anyone is missing them...
juncsource has them all.
Well, I uploaded 'em anyway, see here

http://koti.mbnet.fi/tk-/files/AGS_Ezine5.pdf
(I renamed some of the files, as the name format was quite random)
I finally got the new template up and running ...
Unfortunately only issue 9 is online now ... I'm updating the others with the new template.Ã, Shouldn't take too long.
AGS Ezine :: Issue 9 (http://www.twin-design.com/agsezine)
It's a little cleaner of a design (perhaps less fun) but I think it's easier to read.
I'll post up a notice when other issues are converted.
Wonderful design, even better than the last one! Great job, Darth!
Fantastic! ;D Good job guys. I really enjoy reading through all of the AGS EZines. And I usually learn a few new things that can help me with my own projects.
*Salutes*
Pssst Darth - a little thingy I forgot - could you please add this email: y9k_compatible@hotmail.com to the help wanted ad? Thanks in advance.
Cheers Darth!
That is definitely easier to read.
I can't resist saying the No-Action Jackson review score is absurd. 74%? Cuckoo!
...but the Ezine is notorious for its low review scores. What games have recieved above 80? I bet Pleurghburg wouldn't even make 90. Besides, you should be reading the review itself, not the numbers. The numbers are cheap cop-outs!

Well, there's Enclosure (90%). That's pretty good for a game with an appalling interface. :)
And the Ben Jordans got 76%. I know it's a different reviewer, but that's what editors are for.

Thanks ... and did you see the rating JP & Cosmo got??Ã, Sheesh ;)

No-Action Jackson is a great game, but the version that was released is so buggy that I don't see how any reviewer could justify a score above 75%. Which was exactly the reason given in the review.
Iqu made the review and gave the score. He said he'd take all responsibility.
Vel ain't to blame for the score, I am. Vel was on your side, as the following log shows.
Session Start (b0rk.uk.quakenet.org:Vel): Sun Jun 20 20:03:44 2004

*** DCC SEND:C:\WINDOWS.ext\Desktop\New Folder\agsez-rev-noacjack.txt to Vel completed 0.174 kb/sec
<Vel> give a rating
<Vel> in %
<Iqu> overall or per feature
<Iqu> ?
<Vel> overall
<Vel> OK, send me any files, Ive got autoaccept all
<Vel> and contact me in 25 mins
<Iqu> um.. that's it so far
<Iqu> i'm going to go with 74%
<Vel> no
<Iqu> nice round number
<Vel> higher
<Vel> or
<Vel> hmm
<Vel> dude
<Vel> from what Ive played of it, it should get, like, uh 80 or more?
<Iqu> 74 is as high as i'm going
<Iqu> it's buggy tho
<Iqu> which is mentioned in the review
<Vel> ok
<Iqu> and it is mentioned that it would get higher after some tweaking
<Vel> so, how I rate them is
<Vel> 20 for gfx, 20 for sound and music, 20 for plot 20 for gameplay and 20 extra for bugginess, manuals etx
<Vel> etc
<Iqu> k
<Iqu> gfx 15/20
<Vel> so, is that it?
<Vel> 15?
<Iqu> sfx/music 15/20
<Iqu> they weren't very detailed
<Vel> dude thats freaking beautiful - dont judge them on commercial manner
<Iqu> nice, but pretty empty
<Vel> well ok
<Vel> its your review
<Vel> you'll take the crits
<Iqu> plot 18
<Iqu> gameplay 17 or 18
<Iqu> bugginess/manuals 4
<Iqu> it had a readme
<Iqu> that comes to 69/70
<Iqu> so, go with 74
<Iqu> also, nothing would get top scores, because that would mean it could possibly be improved upon
<Iqu> couldn't
<Iqu> rather
<Iqu> what stuffs do you want for a bio?
<Vel> well I dunno, what would be interesting for the reader
<Iqu> about me? probly nothing
<Vel> er,
<Vel> erm
<Vel> then some general stuff
<Vel> and that you like the ezine much, and it would be an honour to write for m... it
<Iqu> what? like the average speed of a water buffalo?
<Vel> ...
<Vel> what you enjoy doing, where you study, etc
<Iqu> study?
<Iqu> we've discussed this before.. i'm a bum
<Vel> you have a band, no?
<Iqu> yea
<Vel> well then, write about it
<Iqu> but i don't use it as a revision aid
<Vel> bah, general stuff about yourself
<Iqu> i'll think of something i guess
<Iqu> do you have a bio in the zine?
<Vel> nope
<Iqu> why not?
<Iqu> and why must i have one?
<Vel> because I started it all
<Iqu> or is the zine a bit thin this month?
<Vel> And because you are the new kid in town
* Vel does the air piano
<Iqu> new kid? haven't i been around longer than you?
<Vel> not in the ezine
<Iqu> that's what you think..
<Vel> no, really, get working
<Vel> and do those MAY mags reviews
<Iqu> you what?
<Iqu> you never told me about may mags reviews
<Iqu> don't suddenly spring things on me like this
<Vel> I did!
<Vel> and the interview
<Iqu> the interview i'm working on, now the review's done
<Iqu> but i swear, you never mentioned mags
<Iqu> what game's is it?
<Iqu> games, rather
<Vel> coup le coup and ralph the raven
<Vel> write two short reviews
* Iqu searches forums for DL links
<Vel> completed games, I think they are either on the first or on the second page
<Iqu> DLing now
<Vel> k
<Vel> ClC is really cool
<Vel> never played RtR
<Iqu> just 'cause you think it's cool, don't expect it to get 100%
<Iqu> i'll take the flak for a bad review
<Vel> well its not perfect :P
<Vel> but I tell ya that itsgood
<Vel> you'll see
Session Close (Vel): Sun Jun 20 21:24:41 2004
So. there you see. Stop picking on Vel about harsh reviews, as he's just coming crying to me. Like a small child with a grazed knee. Baby.
Wow, i agree with Vel for once, weird..
