Well, it didn't turn out quite as nice as I'd hoped, but on learning that nobody had yet created an ags wallpaper I just HAD to try it.

Note: I have mercilessly ~~plagiarized~~ researched from various sources to make this wallpaper; if you don't want your picture/character/logo on it then just let me know and I'll take it off. Note however that you will forever earn the label 'meanie'.

It's a little too scrappy for my liking. Some suggestions:

Make your sources consistent in style. This is very hard to do, because there are limited resources, and even two cartoony looks like Larry Vales and bluecup there can clash.

The setting of the objects/pictures here is also fairly random, I'd want a more definate look, rather than a copy and paste collage*. It's extremely cluttered at the moment.

Lastly, white background... ugh. White is acceptabl in backgrounds, but not in such a quantity.

Try again, bearing those points in mind.

*I expect that earns me the meanie title and puts me on your death threat list, right?

Aargh what am I supposed to go? I've got boyd saying it's too sparse and you saying it's too cluttered... and find me enough ags-related material with consistent styles and I'll make another one

. But no, you're not going on my death list just yet, since this is the first time I've tried making a wallpaper, or in fact doing a copy and paste job of any kind. So I guess it wasn't that successful.

It's a good try, but I agree with other that there's few points you should tweak.

- White bg (or any solid color)
You could try some gradients of nice well-fitting colors.

- Composition
Don't be afraid of overlapping images. Also at the moment you'd either need a hell of a lot more resources, or then you could resize the images you have a lot. It looks kinda empty now.

- Different style of pictures you've used
I think this isn't that much of a problem, but still I'd separate the handmade girl (which sure had a name, but shame on me, I can't remember it now) and the pixel-art. Also photos of agser's maybe should be in another wallpaper. If you fit them good then they're okay too, but it'll need a lot of work.

- It's too "still"
Add some "movement" to it by rotating pictures. Also vary the sizes.

- Contrast(?)
What I want from my wallpaper is that it won't jump on my nose every time I have to work on desktop. You need to bring the colors down a bit.

Here's a quick edit to show what I was thinking. Wouldn't put this on my desktop, though. Not because of the subject, but because it's crappy 5min edit, which lacks at least half of the tips I gave up there). It's a quick sample anyway.

Haha that's great. I shall return another day with another wallpaper. Maybe I could shove a load of mittens pictures and sections of pictures together as one paper, and have another one dedicated to ags characters... ah, the possibilities are endless! If anyone would be interested in finding more source material for me (everything except mittens photos, please

) I'd be grateful.

I like the idea, but as a few people have already said..the orginal looks a bit white and sparse. prehaps altering size/angle of pictures, or add more.

also, prehaps chose a diff. background then white. I like the purple one that mikko made

That wallpaper is most nifty, Cpage. If I hadn't got one of the best wallpapers I've ever seen, anywhere, I'd have that in a flash.
