Can I use the "Blue Cup" image on my website?

I've decided to finally do a real website for Weggieware Games instead of the little dinky site I did like 5 years ago, and get my own domain instead of running it off of my personal website.

So, I am about done with the site, and am working on a logo for it.  On the logo, I wanted to somehow incorporate that all the games are AGS games, and I figured what better way than to use the sexy ol' "Big Blue Cup" in there.

Then I got to wonder about it...  I don't want people to think I am in any way related to the development of AGS, or to think that (God forbid) I am CJ.  That would be a serious detriment to CJ's reputation :)

Anyone have any thoughts on that?  Is the blue cup symbol copywrited?  Is it just tacky (in your opinion) to use it?

I was thinking something like this (draft version) :

Thanks,

I dont think its illegal in any way but i do think its tacky and unnecessary.

You are defined by your games, not by the fact you use AGS to make them.

Yeah, I kinda agree about the tackyness..  That's why I asked.

Meh, I dunno.  Maybe I'll just use the generic triangle images from my in-game logo :)

We'll see.

I see nothing wrong with referencing the bluecup to show your "roots", but it might be confusing to use the bluecup as is, because someone may possibly think it is AGS or done by CJ or something.

Instead, an idea is to use the bluecup along with something else. Since you call yourself "Weggieware Games", maybe you can show carrots and leafy vegetables pouring out of a tilted bluecup?

Now, with his very own game: Alien Time Zone

I think it's a little weird on the logo, but you can have an unrelated sticker says "I love AGS" some where on your website with a link.
That might be more appropriate (might just do it for my website as well)...

I see nothing wrong with using the cup in terms of mistaken identity but this -

Would look very nice and more original imo.
(Daydreams of a sprited version. :o )

I'd suggest your own logo. Personally cos of the indetification myself and others have with a blue cup - when I use the blue cup in games and for logos, I always have it accompanying text like 'Adventure Game Studio'. But that's just a personal trait really, so you can of course do as you please! As Calin says there are no legality issues over showing a blue cup in your logo and associating it with something other than AGS :P

Yeah, I've gone the way of my own logo :)  I just thought it would be cool to have the cup, but it is a bit too much.

Thanks!
