AG Television - Episode One (http://www.miez.nl/agtv/Episode_One.zip)
Well, it's taken along time, but here it is.
The first, pilot episode contains interviews with the following AGSers (shown with their respective subjects)
Invisible Man(Harvester) - 'IGN:Kill'
Flippy D - 'DROID' + General Spriting
Rosa and Joey - Dave Gilbert's game 'Bestowers'
It also has a sorta guest appearance by Quickstrike, a commercial for Vel's game development corporation and a stupid guy in a suit. Enjoy. ^_^
Oh yeah, you can skip dialog by pressing any key, and the intro screen by pressing escape (but don't, or the hamster guinea pig will get you.) Any suggestions, complaints, or offers for appearances on the show would be very welcome.
EDIT: Also, alot of thanks to Miez, for hosting the piece of shit file.
Before anyone points it out, I know my animation is shoddy, which is bitterly ironic. Oh well, my legacy lives on in a somewhat better animated rodent, which will reside somewhere in the studio.
Fantastic , Just watched it , where can I get a Guinnea Pig like that?
I wanna see more , More , MORE
iiii love it, but (there are always buts :)) i dont know why, but the top of the taskbar is visible, but i can live with that, and yeah, i though you could make lyp sync so it would be more realistic, cuz now you just see heads go up and down...
Anyway, i wasnt even taking much attention when you guys where discussing about Ags tv, so i really dont know what that is... :)

Hurrah! (I made it)
I liked it a lot.
This is really an excellent contribution to the community, and I would love to see more of these shows. Hell, I'd love to be in one myself. :)
Only piece of criticism is that I think you need to add a bit of humour to the interviews. Other than that, it was wonderful.
That was really cool, guys! Three reccomendations:
1) Some way to pause it. If you have to stop for any reason, it's a bit of a pain to have to watch the first part over again so that you can get to what you stopped at.
2) Grammar, people! I caught quite a few spelling and punctuation errors.
3) (Must be read in a very whiny tone of voice) I wanna be in the next one!
I told all those grammar mistakes to Alkaline in the beta-testing, and did he correct it? no. So nyah, Alk, I told you someone would pick up on them ;D
I should stop replying to this thread.
Oh, and i forgot to add, that clapping scared the sh*t out of me... :D
OMG! You killed Quickstrike! You bastard!
Heya Alky. Nice to see this out. I kinda wanted Joey to appear from off-screen so he's a surprise, but that's okay.
A word about the whole "beach" conversation at the end of the Rosa & Joey segment. In my RON game "Purity of the Surf," Joey had a small cameo in a beach scene. And I remembered, way back when, Alky mentioned that the AGTV studio was in RON. I was trying to make a clever connection between the two, but apparently the studio isn't in RON anymore. Oh well!
I do agree that there needs to be some humor in the interviews. Also, that music got a little monotonous after awhile. Still, it's just a pilot episode so I'm sure the next one will be better. Nice work! :-)
Good job Alkaline!!!
I liked it, although I don't really understand the hampster thing.
And also, my name is in the credits for musician, but none of my actual music is in the game.
I can't take credit for somebody else's work! So whoever did the music should have his name in their, it isn't right for mine to be there.
Heh, pretty cool. Basically what everyone else said should be fixed... oh and i liked it how the presenter's jacket swapped sides everytime he turned... nice touch.
Er - whoops - that's what you get for hiring cheap serverspace. Mine seems to be down at the moment, keeping all of you hungry young readers from the goodies. No AGSTV, no FoY forum. The situation will be magically remedied in a few minutes/hours/days. As soon as they recapture the monkeys and put them back in the treadmill. Or something...
Just keep trying.
Heh, that's awesome! ... Mind if I make an AGS commercial to go along with it? ;)
EDIT:
D'oh! There already are commercials...that's what I get for commenting before I'm finished watching it...
Damn :P Now my idea is ruined!
I sincerly hope more of these to come! Great work! :)
I second everything said here. This was GREAT to watch!
Where do I sign up for the next one? :)
Thanks alot people.
Raggit: Are you sure? I put it as the main, intro tune, for the second, credits screen, and it sounds great...
TerranRICH: Well, yeah, there's one already, but I need some for the next episode, so if you wanna make on that would be cool.
Everyone else: I have another one or two spaces for the next one, and it would be extremely cool if I could fill them... It's totally up to the interviewee how they want to do the interview, and about which subject - Conversations could be done directly, with the author, or the characters from the game, and either I could interview you in IRC or a messeging program, or you could write your own segments. Just post or message me with your name or game
Also, sorry 'bout the RON mix-up, Dave, I was planning to move the studio later or something.
Are you talking about the MP3 I sent you???
All I heard was some MIDI music.
Cool, Pres, working on it right now ;D
Ah, I figured it out.
I wasn't hearing any music in the intro so I copied the song file into AGTV's folder and it played.
Does anybody else hear music during the opening credits?
Er, I don't think I heard music during the opening credits, now that I think of it.
Actually, speaking of the opening credits, I found that they took a bit too long. Perhaps being able to click through them faster would be a good idea. Or, if you want to force people to sit through the whole thing (an understandable wish), at least make them go by a little quicker. Maybe its just me, but that thing took forever!
Other than that though, GREAT, STELLAR job.
yea those are my main problems, it was very slow
the credits took forever and it seemed to stop on one of them and i had to click past it
and the walking to and from the stage was even slower and i wanted to die
also, i take it that it was supposed to be run in 320x200? cause dave's sprites are horrible looking and again, too slow hehe
so for the next one my suggestions would be, just speed it up a little, try to design it a little more, the title screen was a little bland wow me! and maybe try some close ups? or screen shots?
anyways, good luck and good work
eric
Absolutely brilliant!!! :D
Been waiting for ages for it, but it's worth it. Some funny stuff, but gotta have a bit more humour to it. Animations are good, but the title sequence needs something. You could do a sequence like Late Night for it, where it has the host running around New York (thats where it's set isn't it?) being chased by the Guinea Pig, and have the guinea pig a few feet taller than the host.
Oh, and Alkaline, do you want me to do some new backgrounds, so it's not just the same one being shown the whole time? And if so, what kinds of backgrounds?
Once again... absolutely brilliant!!! ;D

Well, those sprites were drawn for 640 x 400 resolution. If you play AGTV in low res, they would turn out all pixelatted and funky. They look better in-game. Check out the thread in the "In Production" forum to see what they're supposed to look like.
Well, okay, I'm dumb. I had two files, one without the .vox (for testing) and one with, and I sent the one without. Sorry, guys.
Zipped Music .vox (http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/music.zip)
Feel free to hit me or inflict pain or something.
Also, Ultimo, other backgrounds would be cool. Perhaps a set for the band, either on a different bg, or on the same one (made scrolling). Also, maybe the roof of the studio?
Yes, new backgrounds, but wouldnt it be nice to always have the same place, like a cozy one like this. Like a place where you are always welcome.
Maybe you should make a sofa for the host, like in Oprah?
edit: i just put it in 640x480, and i somehow like Joey in low-res. :-\
:)
ALKALINE!!!!
HOW DARE YOU DEPRIVE THE WORLD OF MY BEAUTIFUL MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
uh.... Okay, so maybe that theme wasn't so beautiful.
I like how the severed body of the host floats above the desk. ;)
not much else i can say that hasnt already been said.
very cool job! cant wait till the next

right here... http://www.angelfire.com/ultra/slamgrinder/Hammy.zip
his name is hammy althought hes a guinie pig, and he lives in a hampster cadge and goes in a hampster ball... OK ITS A HAMPSTER!
( ( ( <( -_-)> ) ) )
Hehehe, great idea, great execution. I loved the stuntman part :) Plan to make more of this? Monthly basis perhaps? Or it's gonna be special issue with no timed publishing?
i know dave, i played the demo, but maybe i missed it but i didn't see any documentation telling me what res to play it in so i just loaded it without switching
Very good. I give it two thumbs up!
:)
Once I can start a new game in AGS (ERAHH!!) I'll finish that AGS Commercial #1 to go along with the next AGS Shows (whenever they come out) :)
I have several in mind for other commercials, too. :D
Hey, I downloaded it, watched, and loved it! Great stuff, man - More like this wouldn't be too bad... ;D
But next time you could include screenshots or small trailers from the featured games, just like in real talkshows, when they show clips from some actors/directors latest movie.

Here is the first one to go along with the next AGSTV show, Alkaline. :)
HAHA! thats great.
I didn't know i was supposed to click to move along though, i was sitting there watching, and becoming a little depressed myself actually. ;)
no, but it was really funny
Couldnt you run another AGS game from within it if thier brief commercial was coded in AGS too... just a quick thought.
:'( nobody wants my hammy? :'(
( ( ( <( -_-)> ) ) )
I was thinking about that. It would either be: AGSTV Part 1 -> RunAGSGame to Commercial -> RunAGSGame to AGSTV Part 2
...or, I could give my source code and sprites and have Alkaline integrate it himself so it's smoother.
