Hello,

today I found out at the Dott2-forum (a project in which I participated a longer time ago), that somebody called "DOTT fan" made these FIMO figurines:

I think those are great and they make me wonder whether I could pull something like this off. I should give it a try sooner or later.

Maybe one could even try to recreate a room from the game...

Anyways, what do you guys think of this and do you know of any other such efforts?

Sweet. Something to update Maniac Zombies with.

There were these images that were posted on the MOJO forums, but they're down right now. They are posted below and will be on the ManiacZombies fan art section.

Here is the original thread:

- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

That's some really great stuff. Both the figurines, pirate bust and giant Bernard.

I've always wanted to make my own figurines, but I don't know what material to use, or where to get it. I've been to a local hobby shop, but they only had really rough clay that went stiff after just about an hour in free air. Very hard to work with, and I had to use matches to hold the joints together. Plus, you had to paint it. I've also tried "My Dough" from Toys"R"Us, which would suit perfect if it wasn't so hard to work with. Too rubbery.

So is there a brand of clay, or a special type of clay, that would be suited and recommended for making figurines? Preferably pre-colored.

I use Sculpey for all my figurine making days. I have/had plans to make a bunch of futurama figures, ones that weren't made into 3 inch tall metal figures. I have a couple semi-done. Some met their untimely death when I decided it was okay to walk around with several in my hands at once. I of course, use metal armatures, but its just random thick wire I got from my mother.

Although Scupley comes in many colors, I preferred to use white for Roberto and others, as pictured above. (Bender is an example of the metal figurine that I am trying to compliment my figurines with.)

As others may have seen in the Garfield thread earlier, I made the whole cast using colored Sculpey. They are all still in mint condition, and are in a 3d Box frame sitting in my room.

I have Hobbes, of Calvin and Hobbes about halfway done, but I've been waiting for a rainy day with my girlfriend to complete him.

They're really good! Well done! The DOTT ones are uber-cool!! I wish I could buy them.

I'd never be able to make anything like that. I tried to make Bagpuss once but he ended up as Blobpuss. What would be really impressive Scott, is if you could animate them with an old 8mm or something ;)

Holy shit, I am blown away by all of the figurines on this thread. They look great! I ADORE the Bender figurine.

:-\  I mentioned that the Bender figure is an official figurine, and I'm trying to emulate it to style and size.  Sorry to get your hopes up... or something.

Oh whoops, sorry. I skimmed... my bad. But I really do like all of them! The DoTT ones, the Garfield ones, all awesomeness.
