Title: Anyone remember SFTK adventure game?
Post by: on Wed 11/08/2004 15:11:19

SFTK stood for...

Search For The King.  It was an old adventure style game where you took your Elvis fan on a hunt to find the lost king himself.

Back in the days of Text input GUI.  Anyone remember this game?  Would be cool to see an AGS remake of this...

I personally hated this game, it's sorta like a LSL ripoff, and not funny in my opinion.

Spoiler
Especially for me non-english speaker that didn't know the word Hitchhike at that time!

Wasn't that a Les Manly game?

If so, they made a sequel called 'Lost in LA' (I think).

Yep. They made two Les Manley games, Search for the King being the first, and Lost in LA being the second. They were cute, and weren't really LSL ripoffs except for the way the main character looked (and his name...) and the fact that he was a geeky loser type. The aim of the games definitely wasn't the same :P

Don't forget the "ooh I can type in naughty words and get a response!" factor, which of course wasn't quite the same as LSL.

I liked the joke in Freddy Pharkas as a response to it, "Here lies Less Moanly, died with his shrinkwrap still on."
