Hey everyone..

I'm new on these forums, though I've been visiting the website and playing ags games for a couple years now.  Anyway, I'm a music composition student who is in desperate need of a side project, so if there is anyone who is in need of music, PLEASE let me know.  I'll be more than thrilled to help you out.

Thank you,

Justin (Dos4/GW)

Yes, the forum name is in honor of the old DOS protected mode.  Nice catch.

As far as the music I do...just about anything, really.  I enjoy researching a type of music before I write in the style, so the more far out there the better.

But thanks for the warm welcome.  I'll check out the contests and generally make myself a nuisance around here.  ;D

Welcome!

Please do post some samples of your work.  As a fellow composer, I'm always interested in hearing what the competition is up to!   ;)

The best way to get into a real project so to speak is to have samples available, and to get known a bit around the forum. It will be much easier for people working on a serious game to contact a composer they know something about and they know the main style of.
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

Welcome to the boards! :) Samples are an excellent start!

If you could post some up that would really help the forum members, otherwise you'll have to repost this request in the "Offer your services" thread; http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=29219.0

Alright...here's a myspace page with my most recent stuff:

"A Lament for Strings" was just played in concert at the University of Wyoming a few weeks ago.  I hope I'm not tooting my own horn too obviously, but I'm damn proud of the piece.  I've posted a synth recording.

I'll try to post some others in the next few days.  Most of my stuff I've done so far isn't really 'game' music, but hopefully everyone can get the just of the way I write.

Anyway, please tell me what you think.  Thanks.

The Lament For Strings sounds really good, and so does the untitled tune. It's good mood music. If you're interested, I've been looking around recently for some music for my game. I'll PM you with details.

I don't think he'll get your PM. He hasn't been active since December of last year.
I'm composing the music for this game:

Not counting today, you mean?

Steel Drummer

Last I checked, it was December. He must've gotten an email notification of the PM. His only three posts since December were in this thread.

Is it not worth PMing him then? I could use some music for this.

According to his user, he has been on today

Ishmael

Why don't you just PM him and see what happens? ::)
