Here comes the biggest plotwist in the history of plotwists. Give me a couple of days, and it shall arrive. I've always loved this poster even though we went with something different.

Pretty sure, but the game was never in the database. I asked bici, and he said it's eligible.

Well I know what's going to sweep the board then! :-D  It would have been interesting to see Resonance and Primordia go head to head last year, both amazing games.  I'm really not certain which one would have come out the winner, they were both so good but in slightly different ways.

Anyway... I've got a couple of games to put up for consideration:

Troll Song Demo
(Hopefully worth a nod for Best Demo?  Also maybe for Tino's excellent Character Art and Background Art.  Maybe even voice work if you liked my infinitely cheesy fake French accent! (laugh))

Download Link (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1644/)

Captain Disaster in: "The Dark Side of the Moon"
(Maybe you might feel it's worthy of nomination for Best Short Game, Best Music, Best Dialogue Writing - though I fear many people who played the game might have missed most of the dialogues out?!  Maybe you liked the Player Character or Floyd as the Non-Player Character?)

Download Link (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1718/)

I would also like to draw attention to AprilSkies' excellent first game, Donald Dowell and the Ghost of Barker Manor.  I'm still amazed that this was a first game.  Definitely in with a shout for Best Puzzles, Player Character, Background Art...

Really the only other thing left to say is:

CLOD SAY VOTE FOR TROLL SONG IN ALL CATEG... CATIG... CAATT... ... ... TINGS.

I would be honored to participate in the 2013 AGS Awards.
And I would thank CaptainD so much, first for playing and second for his interest and for his appreciation (Thanx Captain! I'm Honored).

I'm posting something that you have asked (description, download link and screenshots' thumbnails):

TITLE:  Donald Dowell and the ghost of Barker Manor

Description: Donald Dowell and the Ghost of Barker Manor is an old-style point-and-click adventure game, inspired by the great Sierra and Lucas 90's classics. It has an old-fashion graphic style, totally hand-drawn. The drawings were scanned and colored with simple photo-editing programs.
Game interface is old style too (Old Sierra, icons Look, Walk, Talk, Interact).

Story: Donald Dowell is a nice old man in his eighties, retired for many years. Donald s life, except for his "intolerable" wife, is quiet. But Donald feels empty. He has the socalled retiree's syndrome : he s bored to death! The only way to cure his boredom is TO GO BACK TO WORK. After many hours spent in his city, trying to get hired for various jobs, he finally finds his calling: to be a GHOSTBUSTER! Donald will try to become Bob Delano s assistant (the most famous occult detective in Ireland), be involved in the investigation of Barker Manor and, hopefully, solve the mystery.

Strengths:
- Gothic cartoon style setting
- Handmade graphics
- Large quantity of characters and locations (37 non-player characters and 80 rooms)
- Length: over 10 hours (extimated by testers and some players)

Instabilities, bugs, glitches and memory leaks appear. It is your job to find a way to get rid of him and save the Computer from an inevitable crash.

Well, here's a love song to old-school point and clickers I wrote with Parafia :) It tells a story of a homeless man who communicates with the world using an old sock on his right hand. He's a huge football/soccer fan and plays it a lot near his backalley. One day he gets mugged by a wandering bully and loses his precious ball in the process. Now he must pull himself together, team up with a local superhero, find a new ball and confront his oppressor again.

Features:
- beautiful retro graphics and cool animations
- non stop absurd humour
- Crissy Ronaldo jokes and a Champions League athem!
- self proclaimed superhero (without a cape)
- a real ballad

KTX-1 (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1668/)

KTX-1 is a point'n'click that won the 2013 MAGS in March. It features a very unique interface that generates interactions dynamically depending on what the player clicked on. It's non-linear (giving you up to three different solutions for some puzzles, with different outcomes and consequences), it includes two optional minigames and the entire making of the game, from complete beginning to the very end, has been livestreamed in front of other AGSers and, to this day, can be re-watched on my channel http://www.twitch.tv/NihiLStarcraft.

The Art of Dying is a fast-paced action platformer. It features six build-in levels in two difficulty levels, a fully functional, visual and userfriendly editor build into the game that makes creating your own levels very simple and is supported by a website that can be used to upload and share community-made levels (http://dkh.agser.me/die).

Heroine's Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok is an adventure / RPG hybrid. Like in many adventure games, you have a world to save, and must use your wit, guile and inventory to puzzle your way through. In desperation, the jarl of Jarnvidr has called for a Heroine, to stand against the forces of frost and put an end to the lasting winter. Her might, sorcery, and cunning may be humanity's last resort. Are you up to the task, or will you die trying?

- Over 100 hand-painted backgrounds and 10,000 sprites in animations.
- Many monsters, including giants, trolls, and svartalfar.

PLEASE CONSIDER ABSENT IN THESE CATEGORIES

Of course, we'd be grateful for a nomination in any category, but I'd say the areas that we are the most proud of overall are in the sound department:

Best Voice Acting
Many have praised this aspect of the game already, and I'm extremely proud of the voicework contributed by our cast.

Best Music
Originally intended as a MIDI soundtrack, it was since expanded and converted into a full MP3 soundtrack in collaboration with Adam Haynes.
Really proud of the final result. Take a listen to the full soundtrack here. (http://adzin.co.uk/album/absent-original-soundtrack)

Thanks a lot everybody and enjoy the game!

For your consideration:
Jack Trekker - Somewhere in Egypt

Originally created for the eighth One Room One Week AGS competition 2013. Help man of steel, Jack Trekker, egomaniac ladies' man and stereotypical adventure hero, escape the tomb of the Three Sisters with the legendary Dildontus relic! With suggestive dialogue and awesome catchphrases, this game is sure to be one for the whole family to enjoy... and junk!

Gameplay:

Please consider for these awards:
- Best Player Character - Jack Trekker, BOOM!

Why should I vote for Jack?:
- Because let's face it - he's awesome. Aaaand he will be returning in 2014 in a full-length, fancy smanshy feature game! What better way to let Jack know how much you think he's da bomb, dude, than to lend your vote to the big man? Oooh yeah!

For Your Consideration:

Adventure Island â€" my tribute to a genre of game I love.  It is not a direct copy of any particular game, but contains many allusions and references to classic adventure games as well as a few other types, and also movies, books and other sources.  Although the tone is light-hearted and the plot highly contrived, I have tried to make the puzzles challenging, with a wide range of types and varying difficulty.

Adventure Island is a full length game comprised of ten different sections, each with its own distinctive style and character, largely based on different sub-genres of adventure game.  The backgrounds range from photo-realism to highly stylised, as appropriate.  It plays mainly in the third person, though there are two short sections in first person view.  There are three playable characters and 20 other characters to interact with, plus a talking parrot!  All are fully voiced.

The game can be downloaded from the AGS game database, or from my web site:  www.adisland.webs.com   A Player Guide, with hints and solutions for all the puzzles, is also available from my web site.

ETERNAL CHRYSALIS (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1740/)
(MAGS 11/2013)

A short adventure game based in Egypt, featuring a grumpy professor, a disgruntled assistant, a grave robber,
a mummy is about to be reanimated, gadgets, technology that definitely doesn't look like the ancient Egyptians made it,
and most importantly of all PINK SOCKS.

Please Consider ETERNAL CHRYSALIS for the following categories:

* Best Short Game
because it's fun and way too short
*Best Dialogue Writing
Because it's spot on and funny
* Best background art
because, why not try and see how this competes against the other entries.
* Best Music
Emont composed some great tunes while at the same time working on
his own game for this mags and Diane also made an anthemic ancient tune.
* Best Pink Socks as an Inventory Item
because

AGS MASTERMIND (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1669/)

Please Consider AGS MASTERMIND for the following categories:

* Best Non-Adventure Game Created with AGS
because tAoD needs competition
* Best Background Art
Because it's shiny
* Best Programming
because it's tricky

On behalf of myself and the rest of the Little Red Dog Games team, I would like to officially submit...

We're all very proud of Conspirocracy (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=49642.0), a full length game set in Toronto that raised $1000 for the Foundation Fighting Blindness.  It has an average rating of 9.4/10 on Desura, and has received very positive feedback from the AGS community.

[embed=420,315]<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/KccEiZb8CFc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>[/embed]

We understand that the categories for AGS games, particularly commercial games, are currently under review.  We are, of course, grateful for nomination under any category, but we suggest that Conspirocracy really stood out and deserves special recognition for the following.

Best Dialogue Writing
Best Voice Acting
Plenty to choose from.  I would personally recommend Edywn Tiong for the role of David, and Evan Bremer for the roles of the Barista, Polonius Vildenroy, Health Inspector, the Chickenistani Records Official and the Chickenistani Citizen.
Best Background Art
(I mean, just look at that cityscape...)
Best Non-Player Character
Seabisuit?  The Toy Store Owner?  The Mexican Waiter?  Any notable Chickenistanis?  There are many memorable characters to choose from.
Best Sound Effects
(Our sound engineer actually shot himself in the chest in order to ensure that we got the best foley possible for a violent encounter in the deep desert.)
Best Music
Problem's 22-song soundtrack is magnificent and highly memorable.  One of my favourite features of this game.

A lot of wonderful people have said some really lovely things (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=49515.0) about Time Stone, so if you haven't played it, for your consideration:

Anyway.
With much joy I present to you Educating Adventures of Girl and Rabbit (http://lazyandsleepy.org/rabbit.html) by Lazy & Sleepy (http://lazyandsleepy.org/) and Projectoholic (http://www.projectoholic.com/). Again.

Wow, you're still reading this after looking at the screenshot. In that case
download it from our site  (http://lazyandsleepy.org/rabbit.html)
if you want to.

It's a new take on the edutainment genre where you're no longer bound to boring constraints of factual accuracy of knowledge and outdated morality. It opens new exciting possibilities to players that you've always dreamt of, such as being verbally and physically abused, manipulated and lied to, and much, much more.

Because really, not teaching kids bad things is for pussies.

It does end with a happy ending though. So that's something.

If I may suggest, you may consider nominating it for the Best Almost Commercial Game Award, the Best It Could've Been A Commercial Game But It Just Wasn't Award and the Best If You Pretend It's A Commercial Game It Starts Feeling Like One Award. But it's your call of course. I'm not a prideful man, I'd accept a p3n1s award with sincere gratitude as well.

Oh and we accidentally the OROW with it. For some reason. Maybe AGSers have a good sense of humour and enjoy fun or something, I dunno. Don't ask me, man, I just made the game with my friend.

Nice one Stu and all other great entrants! Tough competition :) There wasn't much to it but I'd also ask for your consideration for Time Stone soundtrack in music award :) Also the music for Deep Hope. Both soundtracks can be found here (http://www.screen7.co.uk/music/midi/). I think it'd be worth considering Deep Hope (by Cleanic, if allowed?) because stabbing yourself for love of your dying woman only to be turned into a dolphin is a good moral to be remembered. ;)

Please consider it for

Best Story The story is sad and touching with believable characters.
Best Short Game The game might be short but it is worth playing indeed!

Richard & Alice (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1655/)

Draconis

Offering last July's MAGS winner for your consideration as Best Non-Adventure Game. This cunning action/puzzle game in the spirit of Boulder Dash has Smaug's official sign of approval!

The game puts you in the role of Drakesworth the dragon, who is oppressed by the knasty Knights of Knuisance who have stolen his precious gems. To prove he can stand up for himself and make a name as a flying flaming terror (like any dragon should), he has to recover the gems, and set some knights on fire while doing so. Also, this game has a function for custom playing field; you can edit the customlevel.txt file in any text editor to create your own levels, gaining eternal fame and recognition from dragonkind for doing so (a sequel is under consideration with more game elements, scrolling screens, and a true level editor). Enjoy!

~ For your consideration ~
(http://i.imgur.com/7irev6Gl.png)

I originally wasn't going to submit it, but considering I worked with a couple of other AGSers on this one and got in some great voice acting talent (and done a bit myself...), I thought what the hell. It's good exposure at the end of the day. The whole development process turned out to be a great learning experience for me, not only because I learned more about the Adventure Game Studio engine, but because I got to work with an awesome bunch of people and made some good contacts at the same time. It was a learning curve, shall we say? I should probably also mention that if you like the story and are a patient person, you'll probably like this game. Otherwise, maybe not.

Without further ado, I present Mysteries of Peak Valley 2 for your consideration (and what category you think it should be nominated for, if any).

Features:
* Voice acting
* Animated character portraits with lip syncing
* Second in the series
* Ghost mystery/conspiracy

ReVenture Games would like to nominate

Messed-Up Mother Goose â€" DELUXE MY ASS: ENHANCED

for the 2013 AGS Awards!

Mother Goose strikes again!

Fairytale Land is shaken by the return of “Old Mother Fuck-up”, aka. Mother Goose. She aims for children, placing them in her abstract world full of lazy asses that can't fix anything themselves.

You are Goose, her not-so-faithful companion…slave. Your job is not to help anybody, but to fuck up things even more!

May the Cock horse be with you!

  • Beautifully hand-painted backgrounds, completely ruined with Photoshop.
  • A wonderful learning game for children of all ages, that's absolutely NOT suitable for children of all ages.
  • The worst Sierra parody game ever made by mankind.
  • Now with enhanced features! Move around with the arrow keys, just like in the original Sierra game! Experience the game in HAI DAFFYNITION! And find the riveting, new Easter egg.

Seeing some of my MAGS favorites here, I thought I'd post about my little game, too. So here is...

Monty the Komodo Dragon (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1730/download/)

No, he's not an actual dragon. He's just a lizard. A very, VERY big lizard. He's also a husband to a loving wife and a father to a lovable child. As a dutiful housekeeper, he is the one providing for his family. His ever hungry and glutonous family...

So, he sets out on an exciting, dangerous quest for food. He'll visit many places and face many, many dangers -- and some downright atrocities, too. Because while it might not be immediately obvious, all in-game graphics are made using pictures of animals, animal parts, animal products -- and various excretions.

Also, Monty is voiced by yours truly. It's one thing to impersonate Matt Berry channeling Gandalf (https://soundcloud.com/itzfitz-1/request-denied) -- conveying feelings through grunts exclusively is a whole other story! So be a pal and nominate me for Best Voice-Over/Gaffer, m'kay? ;)

And if you haven't yet

Please consider this game in the "Best Non-Adventure Game" category.

THE BLACK HAND GANG

This is a project I created to bring my much-loved young readers book from my childhood, which is now out of print, back to life in the form of this game.

In this interactive book you take on the part of a rather pretentious gang of young detectives who foil the criminal plots of the baddies in true Scooby-Doo style.

I hope this game truly represents the original brilliance of its author, H.J.Press, and can bring his art and self-empowering storytelling to a new generation of young readers.

I would like to recommend this game to anyone who loves a mystery, but especially to those who would like to play along in the adventure with their own 7 - 13 year old children.

Of course, if you happen to not have children around this age, but in your heart you happen to be a 7 - 13 year old child, then you may very well enjoy this game as well...

Hello,

I'd like to offer for consideration my first creation with AGS called "Magic Owl"

It is really more of a short interactive experience than a "Game", in which you trigger animations and sounds while flying an owl around a night sky. The soundtrack to the game is created as you play it. It is intended to be a relaxing and peaceful experience of discovery.

Please consider it for:

Weathered

Weathered is a 1950's Inspired Point and Click, set on a pier island in the middle of the sea. The game allows you to complete quests for the citizens, make decisions, purchase readable notes using the in-game currency, and is topped with a delightful soundtrack.

I would like to nominate Weathered as it has some unique artwork, three great original tracks made for especially for the game, and it's not bad for a 15 year old

You can get it from Desura here (http://www.desura.com/games/weathered)

Or you can currently get it on The Free Bundle here (http://www.thefreebundle.com/)

Hi!
Someone suggested I should submit my 2013 games here, so that's what I'm gonna do. :)

All of them are games I made in 2-3 days for various game jams (mostly Ludum Dare). That's why they're all short and all focus around a simple gameplay idea.
I think "humor" and "non-adventure games" are the only categories they could qualify in

The Quite Annoying League.

This one was made in late December 2012, so I'm not sure it counts. But since it might be the best of the four, I'll present it anyway.
Before joining the Ludum Dare, I took the train, and was quite annoyed by all these train people...you know? So I made a game about it. You're a quite evil organization charged to quite annoy quite joyful people. The game is quite silly, and is played with the mouse and the keyboard.

Breaking Character
(http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/images/games/1761_1.png)

I always have fun creating my character at the beginning of RPGs. So this game is just a character creating game. It's quite silly too, but it's not really a game.

At the cafe
(http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/images/games/1763_1.png)

Once again, not an adventure game, but a weird experience made in 15h. It's about love. Once again, a bit silly.

A thing about nothingness
(http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/images/games/1762_1.png)

The most aventurish of all, and the only one I didn't make alone. A friend of mine did the graphics. this is a philosophical (and silly) tale about finding the way of cynicynism (this is not a typo).

(PS : don't look at the release dates on the AGS pages, they're wrong, I just added the games today to post this. they were made in 2013)
