Title: AZ e-zine Download here!!!
Post by: PeaceMan on Fri 31/10/2003 21:51:47
Heres the e-zine i've been making. It's only a first issue and I only spent a couple of hours on it so it won't be perfect. It contains a couple of reviews and the mags rules but future editions will have more.

I wrote it in notepad so you wont be waiting ages to download it.

Not bad, but it feels a bit... empty.

Hotspot: Thanks.

Vel: How do you mean empty? If you mean content, there were only two reviews as it is the first attempt. There will be more in the next issue.

N3TGraph: You'll find that Vel's and my styles of reviewing are different, and isn't it better to have more than one person's opinion on something? It also avoids things like the Flashbax incident when Vel's review was taken as law, but it was really just his thoughts about the game.

Another thing is that my e-zine is about reviews of games that are made with any engine e.g AGS, AGI, SCI etc. Vel's is purely AGS orientated and features thing such as interviews, pics and tutorials. I am planning on adding a walkthrough section to AZ though.

The point of AZ is to give reviews of games in a quick easy to read and entertaining format without you having to spend 15 mins downloading it. It is not a competitor to the AGSzine, just another point of view.

good luck mr peaceman, i like it and since it'll get longer than rock on

it's just a straight up old school newsgroup style review of games and it isn't cluttered with pictures or a bad design brought about by pictures, it's just text and that's good

This is a real good idea and I think you pulled it of really well. It reminds me a little of SPAG, a three-monthly (?) IF magazine that is delivered by e-mail.

Plain text rules!

If you made it in RTF format, it would be only a little bigger but have more...personality.

I disagree, I think you should keep it all text.  Rich text wouldnt' do much other than allowing fonts and stuff, and that's really not necessary.  I agree with MrC, I like the classic newsgroup-style.

Well, fine.  SOME fonts are good.  He can do it in Rich Text, as long as every single letter is in 72 pt Fuzzy Cootie.  I'd...uh...read...it.  Yeah...read it.
