Hi! Anyone played Black & White enough to wish AGS could do something like that?
I'm sure a lot of people here have played it, I played a fair amount but it never occured to me that AGS should be able to do something similar... it's so far outside the AGS realm, and 3D. I don't think AGS should ever become a general purpose game engine, these are ten a penny, and very labour intensive to use.
Seeing as Black & White had one of the most advanced AI systems of it's time (I think Black & White II has overtaken that now), I don't think AGS could handle it, it would be far too complicated to code.
I doubt B&W2 overtook it. It was a terrible disappointment really. Can't teach your creature spells :(
B&W stole Ishmael from me for a while. He would just play it all day and not play Heretic with me. I hate Black & White for that. :'(
AGS can do it. If you can script it.
I thought those dried-in grease stains were a fact of life before I found AGS.
Thanks AGS!

I agree entirely with Ishmael!
Well then go ahead. Script it.
I think there's an A in this engines name for a reason :)
A is for All.

I second that. But the question was "Can AGS do it?", and AGS can, if you can make AGS can it.
A couple of suggestions to CJ for additions to AGS to make it powerful enough to make Black & White ;)
* Hype Creation Module - Automatically blitzes the world gaming media each day about how revolutionary the currently loaded AGS game is, how it's going to change the face of gaming forever, and how nothing else in existance is in any way comparable to it.
* Exaggeration Toolkit - Creates exaggerated half-truths about game features, and the capabilities of the AGS graphics engine. Now you can finally have AGS characters that undergo conscious thought processes about moving along those walkable area regions!
In case you can't tell, I love B&W me ;D
