You just know they'll try to get Audrey Tatou, won't be able to and the resulting bitterness will lead to the entire project either getting shut down or re-tooled to include vampires.

I saw this a while back. Why don't they just make Broken sword a game about fighting pigeons if they want to murder the series. It's a shame because the cast will be something along the lines of:

Nicholas Cage (The overpaid mongloid who has no emotions) as George Stobbart
Angelina Jolie as Nico Collard
Angelina Jolie's breasts as Nic Collard's breasts
and Neil Flynn (The Janitor from scrubs) as middle aged Andre Lobineau

Then They'll realise it's low budget and tweak it (screw it up) to:

Rick Gervais as George Stobbart
Concheta Farrell (Berta from Two and a Half men) as Nico Collard
Concheta Farrell's breasts as Nico Collard's breasts
and Someone caled Mike as Andre Lobineau

My point is it'll be awful. Where will the interactivity be? Where will the new plot be?
I know where the funny script will be. Down the toilet.

Well if we're on the subject of fantasy casts, surely Brendan Fraser was born to play George ?

That actually might suit him...but lately isn't Fraser going for "action hero" roles? Trying to get rid of the slapstick comedian image.

I think the plot would get shortened and people would confuse it with/say it's a rip-off the Da Vinci code etc.

I always thought BS would make a good film... And indeed The Davinci Code didn't disappoint.

I think this has the potential to be way more fun than the Da Vinci Code. Not that that's difficult from what I hear.

Other than the 2010 date, Video games do appear on IMDB (though are usually mentioned as such...). But it really may happen? Be cool if it did.

I remember I thought that Broken Sword could make a pretty sweet film (of the entertaining comedy/drama blend, albeit with little depth) but after DaVinci Code came out I thought it would look pretty weak. I mean the game doesn't have much to it aside from 'the Assassins and the Templars are still here!' on a plot level - all the genius comes from making the player feel really invested in the characters and the action.

It could be a very entertaining film if done right, though. But if I'm honest I'd prefer to watch a film of Broken Sword 2...

I think it'll be great don't know why some are so negative about it. But it's not just a rumour the makers of BS said on the revolution forums that they're writing the script etc now and going through the slow process of hollywood.

God, I hope it's not Brendan Fraser... I can't stand that guy.

They need to get the balance right... obviously, humour is an important part of BS, so it doesn't have to take itself too seriously like DaVinci Code... however, I sincerely hope they steer clear of cheesy Mummy-style 'comedy'.

I just fear they're going to try and make this a 'family' film, and that could well be their downfall... unless they pull of something with epic appeal like Pirates or Potter, but that all depends on who's funding it.

I think Hugo Weaving could play a good George Stobbart. I think he's a great actor, although he's played some serious roles, and could pull this off. As for Nico I can picture Charlize Theron.

My problem with it would be that (for me) it would seem like the Mummy films.

Hopefully Charles Cecil will have some exclusive news for us in Janurary. :D

[Edit]
Interestingly, turns out he had a hand in the Da Vinci Code game... was that any good?

Maybe Nathan Fillion as George (he could dye his hair) and some french actress like Louis Bourgoin as Nico.

Sorry to break it to you Khris, but that's not a picture of George Stobbart.
