Title: Classified (originally ACR)
Post by: on Tue 03/12/2002 12:17:39
Classified Ads.

Update:
Please continue to post your pleas for help. Once you find someone, please edit your post with "position/s filled" or something so I can keep this thread nicely pruned. Thank you kindly, Mr Kindly.

Ok, as Andail suggested here's the that you can post all your team resquests in. For example:

Mr Billy
Hi! I need 2 artists for this kick ass game I'm making! Who will help me?

Please note, you are likely to get more responses if:

1) You have at least tried AGS and have some knowledge of how to use it.

2) You have at least a rough outline of what the project is you hope to work on and recruit for.

3) You can show that you will be contributing towards the production of the game yourself.

4) You are clear, concise and mature with your proposal.

(The above are just pointers and are not essential)

Remember, not everyone will want to help you. It's always best to simply make a game by yourself first, so that you can get to grips with it all before you then go and rush to find help.

Please include your email. It's suggested that you leave a space between your email address;

m0ds @ hotmail.com

To avoid being spammed. Remember, feel free to ask for induvidual members (i.e. artist needed, composer, scripter needed etc).

:)

Hello everyone,
as you can see, we're still looking for voice actors for Roger Foodbelly.
Roger Foodbelly will be a talkie adventure game, and commercial in other words. If you're a voice actor you can send us a sample of your voice in mp3 or OGG to this adress: jannar85@yahoo.no

Only serious applicants please!
And thanks for spending the time reading this job application.
You'll get paid for your work when the game is out, and recording will begin when the game script is complete.

We've got room for two more. And we highly need an female voice actor, since there will be female elfes, and other female creatures and humans in the game.

---- edit ----
We currently have two professional voice actors on our staff, which've worked on other commercial titles.

I need some help with some character art and background art :)

#ags on irc or tom.d.simpson@btinternet.com#

Basicially, its for my game where you play an Al Lowe style game designer, when real life turns into his game world, it there turns into a sam n max style thing with 2 people.

Theres also a sub game of Snag Quest - A game where you have to break into houses, and the puzzles are breaking into houses.

The game starts in a city, lots of people in suits in the street and mainly in Drews ( main char.) flat ( or apartment)

In the game world, its very much a fantasy world with a lot more country side and stuff.

Thanks

A few months ago now (I think it was September odd) I decided to download AGS again (I had used it previously in a DOS incarnation). I quickly got to grips with the nice Windows interface, and a few days later I had a dream. Literally, it was a dream; a bit cliché I know but it's the truth. Anyways, in this dream I came up with a plot which I still think is pretty good (I'll write this below). I started making my game, and got as far as making a few rooms with some music when I thought it was time to start drawing some characters, so I sat down to do this... and failed. I can tell I'm rambling now, so I'll just cut to the point, I need someone to draw and animate characters for my game. I would post what I have done so far up here, except I need to redraw some backgrounds and anyway it crashes. Instead, I'll just synopsis the plot below:

You start the game in an empty room in some kind of futuristicy structure. A blown off ventilation panel in the wall above you shows how you got here, but the only clue to who you are and what your mission is is detailed in a scrap of paper in your inventory.
You find that your mission is to sabotage the reactor in the centre of the power plant you're in. But, a misshap occurs, and you are caught in the ensuing blast. Your character wakes up in a village below the power plant, where he has no memory of who he is or how he got there. So, not only must you try and save the world, you must also find out who you are.

I haven't worked out the full plot yet, but there should be plenty of character interactions and stuff. All I need is someone (or even more than one person) to draw characters, animate them, and occasionally kick me in the backside if I'm being lazy. I can't offer you anything except the warm, fluffy feeling you'll get for helping a man (adolescent) acheive his dream.

e-mail or message me at apolloice@hotmail.com or post back here. ty ^_^

Ah, what the heck, I'll post here.

I'm the project leader and programmer (with AGS, that is) of Adventurer's Quest I, a Quest for Glory fangame.  We're currently looking for an extra background artist who would be able to emulate a style similar to that of the background art displayed on our website (I have more up-to-date pictures that I'd be showing you if you're interested, though).  And specifically, we need interior backgrounds (stone buildings, village homes, etc.) - the exterior ones have already been reserved.

To try to convince you of the quality I'm aiming for with this project, I'll say that it will be right up there with Hero6, and KQ2VGA will be nothing compared to it ;) ;)  We've got maybe nine or ten members now (too lazy to count atm :P), most of whom are members of Hero6 also.

Aanyway, check out the website at http://snow.prohosting.com/aquest to learn a bit more about the project, and email me at ancientfroggames@hotmail.com if you're interested in helping out!
Title: Revenants Kapooey
Post by: Chrille on Wed 15/01/2003 20:28:08
Revenants is coming along well, but the following problem hasn't struck me until now. A lot of locations in Revenants will be very dark and require you to search through them with a flashlight/lantern/light source. Allthough it is a cool effect, it will probably get tiresome after a while if you have to find your way with a flashlight through every single room of the game. I've decided to take a shot at changing things slightly. As those of you who have played it know, the rooms with lights in them usually just have a small ray of light in the center of the room, which is kind of boring. I'm looking for someone to help me shade the backgrounds in a more realistic way, while still keeping the brightest sections as bright as the "light" pic (see below) and the darkest sections as dark as in the "dark" pic (see below as well). I havn't decided whether to go through with this yet, so I would very much appreciate if those of you interested in helping out with the shading could download and shade the "light" pic (taking consideration to weak moonlight coming in from the window and such) and then e-mail me the shaded version at:
chrille@gaspop.com

Hola tola. I come here for helpness. I have to say that I can do most everything myself (or will figure out how to), but I need a little help here and there with certain things that I'm not as good at.

First of all, music. I have no way of making my own music and would appreciate any help I can get with either having music made or making my own.

The second thing is animations. Now, this is sad that I have to ask for help with animation, but I do. Because, seriously, d00dz, I've found out that I suck at stuff like walking animations.

The last thing is background art. Now, I can do a lot of this my own, especially now that I have Flash (which I work better with than PSP), but I can always use more help with backgrounds. Any help is appreciated if it can be spared, but I really don't desperately need it. I just thought I'd post this if anyone was bored and needed something to waste time on. My email is in my profile, but I'll put it here too. pestilence@zombieworld.com.

Yo yo, peace out. Yo.

What I need is small and very specific. I just need someone to help me think up a good puzzle involving a bar/nightclub and a gym/spa. The player needs to obtain a keycard to access a building and I want the player to have to go through the club and the spa to get it. I was thinking, maybe it's in a bad in the changing room at the spa, but something in the club is needed or something.

I think someone on the forums claimed he was good at this, but I forgot who. Hopefully he sees this. :)

Or, if you think you can help, email at TerranRich@yahoo.com

I am still in need of some graphics for my game : THe Simpsons. I would really like to have some character graphics artists and some background artists, 1 per each is fine, I want no more than 2 or 3 for each. I also only need 1 person to help with inventory items.

For character artists:

I have some character art done. I just need you to edit them and make them better or make more frames and possibly make different views. EG: Homer picking up something off the floor. Making Lisa look better etc...

Let me know at ajdiperla@netzero.net

I need someone to help write the jokes for my game.

It is about a boy (Rodney McNab) and his two friends (Pete and Darren) who float (in a treehouse) off to a distant island during a flood.

Anyone who wants to help should have played most of the Monkey Island games, as I want those sort of jokes.  ;D

this is what the main character looks like, and the other characters will follow this style:

Hey guys, if anybody would be interested in helping out with character and sprite animations for Quest for Glory 2 VGA, please send us an email at  kqvga@hotmail.com

The job would basically involve pixel-editing over the existing EGA QFG2 animations (adding more details and color to them), creating some new animations from scratch, and possibly also helping out with background animations.

It's preferable if you have some previous experience with animations in AGS games and that you'd also be able to contribute to the project on a regular basis.

It would be great, as well, if you could send a sample animation showing your work.

Thanks!  :)

I want to make a game pretty much about Mafia life but I suck at scripting and animating items so if you are interested send me a message. I want to make this a classic so I need as much help as I can get. Pretty much the story is your gfather is in the mafia and when he is killed you leave the city life only to find out that the gang that killed your father is now trying to kill what's left of your family. Your only help is the one man who survived the ambush on your fathers hangout. Just a rough look of things but I think you get it.

Hey y'all
I'm doing a murder mystery style game (heavily influenced by laura bow) and, because my graphic design skills are matched only by my knowledge of temporal physics, I'm after someone to do backgrounds and character headshots for me.
The game is mostly set in an apartment block, so it will be mainly interiors, but I will require some exteriors. Day and night versions of a few locations too.
Let me know if you're interested. While I do have detailed ideas about most of the locations, I'm willing to be flexible and flesh things out with your own ideas.
Drop me a line - scarydan1 (at) yahoo.com.au - if you'd like to participate, or want some more details.
xoxo
Dan

PS - This is my first attempt at a real game. My previous attempts are lovely stickfigures and coloured blobs...I want to do it properly this time!

I am looking for a Sierra style BG artist for a KQ sequel in the works.  Already have most Daventry finished, but would like to make my backgrounds more like the original series.

Must be serious about completing the project.  It will most likely be distributed in segments, each "world" comprising one chapter.  You would get official entry in the each chapter's credits, although I have little else to offer.  If needed I can supply a semi-working demo.

This WILL be on par with KQ:RTS and KQ1VGA from Tierra, or I won't release it.

I'd like some help with my own game.  I've been working on this epic saga for two years now, and I'm working on the plot and the script.  I'm keeping the story a secret, so I'm not going to reveal details unless you're officially part of the team.  I'm not going to actually begin implementing until the script is complete, since I believe it's crucial to have that working at least.  But I'd like to secure a character artist and a background artist pretty soon here.

In addition, I must warn anyone interested.  There will be a lot of character sprites and animation involved.  If you're truly serious about helping me out, I'll be sure to give you plenty of creative license in character details (I've intentionally kept the characters in my script open to some modification, so the artist doesn't feel left out).  Feel free to e-mail me if you're truly interested and willing to work.  Some monetary compensation may occur once the project is complete.

Hi, I'm new to these boards so bare with me...right now I'm working on the script of a rather large game in the Gabriel Knight tradition of noir mysteries.  I will be handling all of the writing and scripting, but I need someone for artwork - backgrounds, sprites and dialogue close-ups (the full screen kind like in GK1 or QFG4).

It's all based in the real world, but I'm hoping to get a sort of gothic/noirish look to the art, whilst retaining the realism.  Kind of graphic novelly in a way.  (Or, similar to the aforementioned GK1 and QFG4)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I'll give out more details on characters and b/g I want if I receive any e-mails.

Once again, thank you.

I'm looking for two people who can translate a medium-length game to german and french (one person for french and the other for german, that is.) I would prefer that the person is a native speaker, because well... I dunno. Anyway, if you're interested, e-mail me at netmonkey@cellosoft.com

I need a character animator for my horror game Sanctuary. I've got the characters drawn, and all that needs to be done is the animation. There's 6 characters that need to be animated in total.

Dunno how many people actually replyto requests in this thread these days, but if anyone can help me just to get some walkcycles on my characters (click on banner in my sig to go to my game thread to see the character, plot, etc.) then I'd very much appreciate it.

I'd  be glad to do some scripting or puzzle design or something in return...

PM me please...

This thread has become un-stuck because I'm going to implement a new way of asking for help. It'll probably suck. But we'll see how it goes.
