How long do you spend on your game

For the past week or so, I've been spending roughly 10 hours each day, working on my game.  Like Timosity said, you learn a lot, but I wouldn't really recommend someone else to go that extreme.  I've been slowing down a bit today, I've only spent an hour or so...

Usually, though, I only spend about 3 hours every other day.  I try to get myself to work every day, but then I just put it off too much, and the only reason I work the next day is to catch up.

Heh, so yeah ... my work ethics vary quite a bit.

Team projects I give high priority. When I say "high", I mean "second only to real life and a new/good/loved adventure game". My own projects I work on at my leisure. Sometimes I may work for hours at stretch; sometimes, if it's something a bit dull (right now, for instance, I have to synch an intro with it's proper music, and the music it about 10 minutes long), it may be untouched for a long time. But hey, that's the advantage of working on my own project, non-dependant on anyone else and one that no one else depends on - I know it'll get done. Eventually. Why should I hurry?

it totally varies. This summer, I often put in about an hour or two a night. Some nights, Id get on a roll and work 3 or 4 hours, and nail 3 rooms, or animate a ton of spirtes. Lately, with my college applications/leaving the country soon/new girlfriend, I think Ive put in about an hour on my latest project in the past 2 or 3 weeks. At least I cant blame it on coming here too often anymore...its been *forever*

I've never finished a game.  I've got three or four mundane experiments that will never see the light of day.  I work temp from 9 to 5 and spend most of my evenings -- which should be put into storyboarding, photoshoping and ideating -- pacing the floor and chain smoking Drum tobacco and cursing myself for not having the energy or concentration of Herculean Effort Productions (damn them for setting the bar so impossibly high!).

It's a good life.
