Title: Digi-cam characters
Post by: Chicky on Sun 22/06/2003 11:18:03
HI all

Im considering a new concept for my game's caracters ... Plastercine! I will pose the characters i their frames and the take a shot of it with my camera. Once i have uploaded and cropped the image i will put it into AGS.

More to the point, my question is : will this work with 640 480 resolation and will it look any good?

cheers in advance

it might look good but you will have to do a lot of cleaning work because of the anti alias.
I think that it would work with any resolution.
About looking good or not, depends on the characters that you'll make ;)

It has been done before in AGS, but never with a very impressive result.
I guess it's pretty hard to use photo-graphics and make it look nice. Good luck, though

I started making a LEGO game, using "blue screen" technology and putting LEGO men in different poses. I used 320x200 for that.

I think a 640x480 plastecine game could look awesome.

You ever seen/played a game called The Neverhood? That was all done in clay or plastercine or something. Must have taken ages filming all of it, but it looked really smooth. Its res was 640 x 480 and it looked cool.

the neverhood ruled. took tons of clay, and a year to film I think. I loved it, but its high price made it tank I think
