Title: Face Noir
Post by: CaptainD on Tue 23/07/2013 23:17:15
Anyone else playing this?  REALLY enjoying it so far (despite a couple of continuity issues) - love the noir atmosphere, music, voicing, puzzles aren't amazing but reasonable (and I'm only near the start), good interface, some neat features like lock-picking, combining clues to create new ones, etc.  Beautiful graphics and art direction.  If it continues to be this good it is going to be an excellent game.

I saw the trailer for this recently and was intrigued but reviews online were not that great, around 5/10 on the average. Is it really that good?

Thanks for pointing this game out - I'd not heard of it and it looks wonderfully moody!

Well I don't know yet - I'm only a short way into it (I mean, I should be spending the time developing my own games but sometimes you just need a break, right?!).  I can only say that I'm really enjoying it so far - will let you know when I do a full review!

They've got the noir mood down very well so far.  The main character's voice is good and I've already come across a bar owner who reminds me of Lauren Bacall and a character who's reminiscent of Joe Cairo!

Fun fact: the Face Noir guys approached me about publishing. I was about to become a father, so I turned them down. :)

Or did you turn them down because you didn't want that Bioshock logo ripoff on your website? That would have been my reason.
