Nightfable

Me and Agentbauer (Westend Studios) are also making a King's Quest IV remake. We're currently working on the demo.

Here's our website: http://www.kq4remake.com  :)

I think you are missing Return of the Tentacle http://www.dott2.org/. The project is still alive, although it seems that everytime someone in the team changes they start all over again  :P

There's at least three more LOOM sequel wannabes.
Will have a look at it.
Thanx.

You're missing SQ7.org, canceled original fangame, using their own engine.
And SQ -1 "Decisions of the Elders", completed original fangame using AGS.
And I'm not sure where you got "Subspace Alliance" for Space Quest:Incinerations, it was Box of Mystery (run by Chris Ushko), same as MI-2.
Will add them both. I should have know about SQ -1 "Decisions of the Elders", I've betatested it...
Corrected Subspace Alliance into Box of Mystery (Chris Ushko).
Thanx.

It does me ole heart a lot of good to see so many fangames... I'm curious about so many of them... Thanks for putting it up!
There are many fangames indeed, but a total listing was nowhere to be found :-)

I was already looking for this one yesterday evening.
Thanx for the info.

I'm not sure, but are all of these on there?
No, only some of them are on the list. But some the games from that site are not related at all, will have a look.
Thanx

Hey, with a name like "Fangames.co.uk", they've got to be fan games, right? ::)

Fangames was one of the first forums I joined when I started looking into game development. If it wasn't for them, I'd have probably never actually committed to AGS (at the time it was around AGS 2.6, and the initial examples I found were somewhat disheartening to an overzealous teenage me).

Anyway, most of the games listed there fit the category of fan games, so that's why I posted the link. ;)

Besides, I gotta give props to ED for keeping the site running all this time.

@Arj0n Did you include the couple hundred games from the Maniac Mansion Mania fan series?  :=

I know them but I'm still not sure if I'd place them as one or all of them separately...

Since you're keeping track of version numbers: ATOTK is v1.3, and Yrolg is at v1.7.

Also, Hero of Infamous Kingdoms was never canceled. What you can download is the complete game, and is intended as such. Yeah, we said it was going to be bigger, but that was an april fools joke.

There's apparently also a King's Quest ZZT and a sequel thereof, as well as KQV the text adventure.

And then there's Space Quest XII, and although I can't find them at the moment, there's at least a dozen other SQ spinoffs and demos, such as Pinkun Maze Challenge and SQ2EYE.

I do as far as possible. Added the version numbers, thanx.

Woops, that's a mistake I made, I know it's a full version... Thanx for pointing out though. Fixed.

I know about the ZZT king's quests but I haven't had the time to look into these games.
Will probably be added too.

Added SQXII, thanx.

As for the spinoffs: I've listed them all already, but I still have to see which of these games are worth mentioning.
Several of them are more a small jokegame...

Thanx.

There's a few more Indiana Jones games that I remember - mostly demos.

There is the IndyJava demo for one - created to show off the adventure games making tool, but pretty cool nevertheless.

Does Shadows of the Empire qualify?

I'm missing some of them indeed, thanx.

Shadows of the Empire does qualify, I can make a "Star Trek"" categorie.
Which results in also need to track down the Star Trek fangames... :-)

You are missing quite a lot Indiana Jones fangames from the database:

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=983 completed, quite funny actually
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=721 I think this is dead
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=1150
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=119 not sure if it's really a fangame

Edit: In the FoY forum there is a board for fangames, you might want to check it out: http://www.miez.nl/yabbse/index.php?PHPSESSID=88a6c76106505bac21dd6787702f6e4b&board=24.0
Thanx, I'll add them later.

Shane 'ProgZmax' Stevens

Haha, curse you arjon!  Someday I'll be able to forget that I ever attempted a fangame.

This is a very nice list. All I can really contribute is that Fate of Monkey Island was in The Games Factory.. and im 90% sure I have a copy of 1 and 2 (up to the shut down by lucasarts) around here on a backup disk I could upload somewhere if needed. I think I have Night of the Hermit too

arj0n

@Cpage:

Would be nice if you can upload 'Fate of Monkey Island 2 - Act 2'
(I already have Fate of Monkey Island 1 v2.0 + v2.0 & Fate of Monkey Island 2 - Act 1 & Act 3, both v1.0)

B.t.w.: Night of the Hermit is available at AGS Archives
