Too bad the ACR thread dissapeared, because I'm in need of assistance.

For my game Bard's Blood, I need four songs written- two ballads and two... I can't think of how else to describe them other than "angry chick rock." Think Bif Naked or Fefe Dobson.  I have the lyrics all written, but unfortunatly the things I know about writing the music I can count on the fingers of one foot.  

Whoever wants to give a stab at trying to write the music will get:
A) undying gratitude!
B) credit as composer for the game!
C) exchange of work- I can write/edit dialog, do historical/mythological research, or do some minimal character art.
D) A NEW CAR!!!!*

The lyrics are here.  There's only three songs there, because I need two versions of the last one- a slow and a fast one.  The songs should be arranged for one or two guitars, electric bass, a soprano vocal line and drums.

Me too. I've played guitar four years, I have recording equipment in my room, and there is a bass down the hall I can borrow. Click on any of my message program aliases to the left and I can send you files when I'm online. I play Strokes-ish music in my band now, but I've played punk and power rock too. I have two rock instrumentals ready to go right now, if you want them.

Problem is.. no drums. If you act quick I could record with my drummer this weekend though, I'll be going home for thanksgiving and we've made arrangements to record in a buddy's home studio.

All you'd have to do is lay a vocal track over it, I can dig up a free multi-track recording program for you to do that with.

well, i was in a hurry so i didnt write much. But my offer is still open and THANKYOU for the car!  

I play with my band a lot of  rock and roll 80´s/hard/punk and there is no problem in musical creation. (16 songs today! Yeey)

oh yeah almost forgot. I have a reunion today about new lyrics. I can prepare something today.

It is a relatively large 5 minute mp3 with three shorts.. I did this kinda haphazardly because I'd only intended to play to you over the internet, so it doesn't sound quite right because of the mic angle and such.. this weekend will be better, I promise.

The first one is a driving angry type song. The second two could work for the slow regretful, or I could do another. The last one I just threw together on the spot, because chord type things are super easy to compose. Punk songs are as well, I had forgotten about the last song and I didn't record one, I, like you, had class coming up fast and I forgot.    I just recorded the whole thing straight right after you got off of the internet, so don't expect that to be a representation of recording quality. I'll have a digital multi-track to play with this weekend.

Hehe, I can write 16 80's hardcore songs a day too.   I dunno if they'd be up to par with the hardcore community though, me being a poser and all.

Got it! Thanks Shbaz!  The last one works really well. With a bit of lyrical tweaking, I think I can make the other ones work as well. Yay!

Keep in mind if you need them tweaked it isn't hard, and they'll be longer when I record them to allow time for the vocals. I'll work on the punk song, its kind of hard to come up with punk that doesn't sound like every other punk song, because of the mechanics of it.
