I've just played this game, and thought it was fabulous! I've played the majority of games from the AGS site, so does anyone know of a freeware game they could recommend similar to FOTAQ ?
Many thanks.
I only know a game called Flight of the Amazon Queen :). Anyways, yes, I remember it. I used to play the demo, but I think I got a hold of the full version for a period of time. Never had the motivation to continue playing it.
i thought it was a fantastic game. i remember playing it a few years back now. As far as free similar games go i suppose you could wait for FoY... Nothing really too similar... maybe escape from delirium, but that was awful.
I don't know how similar it is, but Beneath A Steel Sky was also released from that company as freeware.
Edit (apparently not the same company...) Thanks m0dsie
Maybe graphically similar, but not really similar in gameplay. Two different companies made FotAQ and BASS but one (ScummVM) got the freeware licensing!
Not freeware, but the games most similar to FOTAQ have to be the Indy adventures. FOTAQ was pretty much ripping them off.
A superb game with similar light-hearted spirit is Igor: Objective Uikokahonia. It's not free but you can find it on the underdogs, I believe.
Ah yes good one Vel. I remember that game, I think it's about a school trip to some place and you can't go so you smuggle on board and end up going on the wrong plane or something... I must play that game again some time.
Actually it's a hilarious game about a university student who wants to get the girl... and gets himself into trouble. And I strongly recommend this game to anyone who likes light-hearted and actually funny games.
Oh god, that game pissed me off so much. I don't think I've ever disliked an adventure game protagonist more than I hated Igor. What an utter wanker.
"Amazon: Guardians of Eden" seems to be pretty similar in theme. In fact, I've been playing it, and though I'm only as far as chapter 3 I find it a lot more fun than FOTAQ. But then, I didn't really like FOTAQ.
