Title: Forgive me Father, (for) I have sinned...
Post by: Czar on Sun 05/10/2003 23:34:38
..or whatever that famous line goes.
Well i just wanted to let you know that i did it again, i fell under the pressure and took the easy way.
I went to find help in a walkthrough!
I just wanted to say that this is one of the worst possible things a Adventure game player can do to himself while playing a great game.
It wasnt enough that i had to use some of the walkthrough on MI2, it wasnt enough that i had to ruind the whole last part of Grim Fandango by using a walkthrough, and now i had to use it on Runaway!
Damn me and not knowing to smash a motorcycle skeleton.
I have this weakness for them walkthroughs, and i damn the day i made a concious contact with the internet(some other people maybe do that also :P...), and the word walkthrough.
I know that if there is a walkthrough next to me i will not have a strong will to resist it. I know that if there is a WT and if i really must use it, when i use it i should burn the rest...
Maybe thats the best answer...
Well what do you guys say, do you have similar problems, and better answers?
And really whats up with these damn Water heaters today...

 >:( You Shalt burrn in Hellah, fo you sinnsuh!

Nah, fugghet about it  :)
If anyone can HONESTLY say that they have NEVER in their whole life looked into a walkthrough then good for them. ( Remember, liars go to hell. Well except for Jewish liar, since they have no hell (correct me if I'm wrong).) I have used walkthroughs plenty o' times! Don't be ashamed! The first time I used a Walkthrough was when I played Zork: the grand Inquisitor, but then again I was 8 at the time... The second time was during LSL6. But then I was hmm... also 8 yrs old! (The Beach scene creeps me out)

We don't have hell.  We just have GUILT.  And lots of it.  It comes from our mothers.

Looking at walkthroughs is not a big sin at all, if there're no walkthroughs you won't be tempted to look at one. So those who wrote and provided walkthroughs are big LIARS and SINNERS, they're like the devils, who tempt us ignorant and innocent sheep to do wrong things.

So may these SINNERS and www.gamefaqs.com be burnt in M1T... err... HELL!1!

You know who the real sinners are? The people who came up with those impossible puzzles in the first place! Jane Jensen is going straight to hell for that cat's hair moustache in GK3.

Not to mention Ragnar Tornquist and the damn turn-the-stones puzzle in Longest Journey.

Want to stop this nightmare? I'll give you a solution or walkthru or however you call it:

Get Wallet
Look at Wallet
Get Cash
Walk to Tool Shop
Talk to Shopkeeper
Buy Hammer
Walk to Home
Use Hammer on Modem

That's it! Simple and works fine.

You haven't sinned.  ::)
Actually, DON'T USE A DAMN WALKTHROUGH.
Use UHS Hint thingy, or something similar which gives you only one hint.
Or ask a question on the Lucas-high-tech-mastrubating-system-of-a-down-forums (httP://www.lucasforums.com).

UHS-Hints ... just like Jannar said it gives you a clue at a time untill you are able to solve it on your own .

http://www.uhs-hints.com/

A great tool .... If you need help, don't seek the answers, seek the way to get the answers . It is not the destination one learns from, it's the time and road to get there.

And to sum up my pointless atempt to try and say something on a higher level, I'll leave you with a quote from Aerosmiths -

"Life is a journey, not a destination"

The problem some time lies within the puzzle design. Some people design puzzles that make sens only after you read the walkthrougth. DOTT has a good exemple, what do you have to do to make it rain. Once you solve the puzzle, you get it, but where were the clues? When you try to make it rain, how long will it take you to try this? How many useless things will you try first? Will you solve the puzzle just because you're trying random things or just everything with anything?

Okay, so we are heavily offended and even attacked by Ones Who Write Walkthroughs. They usually give their e-mail addresses in top of solution. So - The Ones Who Like To Think And Not Fight Temptation - let's unite and send to another ones hate-mail, viruses and mailbombs... etc, because they take away our possibility to think by ourselves and get smarter by that. Let's shut down every big solution server like the-spoiler.com or gamesdomain.com. Let's fight for our right to try everything on everything and revenge them for making us to feel like weak humans. Who's with me?  :D

btw, alternative solution here:

Get Scissors
Use scissors on Modem power cable
Talk to nurse
Open Hospital door
Walk to Home
Play further

Okay, I tried this too, but it seems that I have no Scissors, so I tried to use the chainsaw. It worked, but where is the Glue so you can:
Use Glue on Cut-off Leg?

Hmm... I don't remember, Haddas.  I think you'll have to check the walkthrough.

Don't tempt me Remixor!!! You cannot offer me this walkthrough!!! I would want to use it for good, but walkthroughs are truly evil!!!
Game-f-uck-yous (http://www.gamefaqs.com) Is the lair of evil. My poor cousin is corrupted! He uses the site of evil for cheats and such! >:( :( >:( :( >:(

Haddas, I think you could try following to solve your problem:
Spoiler
Use Scissors on spoiled Cousin
[close]
But you're on your own now. Don't blame me if this doesn't work, okay?

*Ahh. It's so nice to have place for making insane computer-game-jokes... But it's time to move on. How about AGS Technical forum, eh guys?*

(for stupid people - I was only joking, don't try this at home - BOTH of my ideas)
