Title: Free website providers
Post by: Primus on Sun 16/05/2004 14:49:51
I've verified many of you have had problems finding free websites to host your AGS-related webpage and/or files.
Some don't accept .zip, .exe, .whatever; some don't give you more than 200 or 300 KBs per file; some don't permit more than half douzain MBs for your site - what is not enough for most of you, the montlhly free bandwidth is almost a big problem too, and so on.

You must ALWAYS read VERY carefully the conditions and terms of use, or else, after having built your site, uploaded it, and so on, you may confirm you will have to find another web host...

Please check these links for free hosting all around the web:

Oh, another thing: most of you have already been f... PI!!!... pis... PI!!!... well, enerved and stressed with those damn popups. I use googlebar almost a year now, and it has already stopped several thousands of annoying popups. Here's the google toolbar: http://toolbar.google.com/
I suggest you should set anonymous surfing on, that's what I did.

But anyway, good thing to point out...

btw. MyIE2 (http://www.myie2.com) has a popup bloker, and it's free, and very good... no need for window-space-eating toolbars...

Thanks, TK, I didn't know (read search :-[) that post. I'm gonna place a link there to this post, no need to put this huge post of mine again ;-)

About the 2nd item, be care, even IE 5, 5.5, 6, have a "third part" (read spyware), so that MyIE shouldn't be an exception. At least, I know google toolbar hasn't any spyware if you don't want. And, as is almost the only browser I use, Google's toolbar is a must for meÃ,  :D

PS: About spyware: do you use eg adaware 6, spybot 14, or else? I use both.
