Games that should get their fangames?

Well, I'm entirely for it, we can open up a forum at Proboards or something like that.

But seriously, I played just one Discworld game long time ago, but I really like the books and I like the style of the 2d DW games (the 3d was just meh, although I'm up for making props and stuff in 3d if that's needed). Though it'd be more fun to make an original game based on one or more DW novels, there's plenty of good detective ones that could be meshed together and basically all of them have the "hero will save the world" story arc in them.

I like the idea of taking a lesser-known character and telling the story from their point of view.  Of course we could always make a business simulator starring CMOT Dibbler...

Well even a new character could very easily fit in such a diverse and colourful world.
Besides, you couldn't really have a Dibbler trade simulator, everything would always be on sale.

I think a low-fi grickle game on AGS would be awesome, like four verb type interface, doesn't have to be like puzzle agent.

I think "CJ against the Evil cellphone games plunderers" should have a fan game.
This way it would be a fan game of a game from a fan of a fan of games.

Surprised nobody's mentioned the Blackwell series. Slightly less surprised nobody's mentioned either the Exile/Avernum series or Eschalon, though.

Psychonauts. Let me quote a really interesting idea from the Double Fine forums:

Well, since I doubt we're going to ever get any sort of direct sequel to Psychonauts, I think it'd be great if DF made a simple 2D point-and-click task completion game within the Psychonauts universe. I was thinking something along the lines of that old Pink Panther game, Passport to Peril, in the sense of art direction and the way you went around the world and had to complete puzzles and tasks to get places.

It really seems to fit the whole secret agent thing the Psychonauts have going on, so maybe it could also be centered around Sasha and Milla?
