Currently learning to use C/C++ for programming games. Know a fair bit of C, but trying to understand C++ now, and how it can relate to coding computer games. Making slow progress - trying to get a SDL-using Lunar Lander clone to work... satisfying, though. May also look at Allegro as well...

I wish I could learn the C++ and code with it but I'm just to old to learn it now.
I'm really impressed with what you guys can do these days .

You know what, candle?

From my experience (my father and all the music history I've read), it is in the age of 45-55 that everybody produces their best work of art. Their masterpiece.

It is not what you know, but how you use it that really counts. Not to mention the experience you have gathered. Of course I know that it is kinda hard to learn stuff after that age (again from my father), but still now that he's 71 he's studying piano, writting contemporary music (with no theoriticall knowledge) and he first bought a computer when he was 55. Since then he taught himself Basic, now the internet (he can send and recieve e-mails, send attachments)

I don't think that you needed really to hear that, but then again I like talkingÃ,  :-\

EDIT: Oh Yeah!

GWBasic  :P (<-I suck bigtime!)

yes that is somethings that can be done  Nikolas.
But I have this little problem "alzheimer's".
I don't have alzheimer's but something like it. I was a welder for over 28 years and from all the metal and stuff in the shops I have heavy metal poison and it is having affect on my memory and I'm losing the use of my legs . oh fun fun fun.
But the game making helps me with the memory plus the Arocept is helping so I keep at it . lol
Be proud of your Dad.

Multimedia Fusion, AGS and sometimes Blitzbasic 3D. They do the trick just fine for me.

I've only used AGS, though i used to use SCI Studio before I realized (or was told) that you can directly import TruType fonts.  I'm tempted to download Wintermute to see what the difference is, and because i find the AGS Views/Animation system annoying as hell (not to disparage on Chris's fantastic work, seriously  :-\).

Anarcho, you traitor! :=

Besides AGS I've tried this Finnish programming language, CoolBasic (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php). I haven't really gotten anything done with it though...

Heh, BASIC. Thinking of trying out BlitzMax... if they do a 30 day trial for Linux... to see if it'd ever be worth the money. I've also used Hugo, Inform and TADS...

I use Visual Studio 6.  At least I did until that dry spell I've had for the last year.  :(

Yup. BlitzMax, BlitzPlus etc. They look good, too!
