Title: Games Showcase
Post by: Crimson Wizard on Sun 11/10/2009 18:42:42
I wish to raise this question, sorry if it will sound silly; There's a "Games Showcase" panel on the home AGS page, which shows same two games for as long as I remember ("A Tale of Two Kingdoms" and "Ben Jordan 6"). I wonder, is it supposed to show only these two for some reason? Or maybe it is supposed to show random games, but fails, or my browser fail, or something?...

Well since it IS a showcase I aint sure how smart it would be to show random games.... :P.

Well, I mean, maybe there could be some other games shown as well, that are found worthy.  ;)

Depends if the other game makers can afford the Endorsement fee, lol. (joking).

There ought to be something like that. Pick out a handful of the best high-profile AGS games and rotate them through the showcase. A Tale of Two Kingdoms has sat atop the most popular download list for ages and ages, but it wouldn't hurt to rotate Nelly Cootalot or Cirque de Zale through the spotlight every so often.

Just my two cents, anyway.

If you refer to the mockup pages here (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/newsite/Home.aspx) and here (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/Newsite/Games.aspx) you will be able to see that there are certainly plans in place to fix this when the new AGS website (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=37297.0) comes to fruition. Hitting refresh on the mockup pages shows that they cycle games from a set list :).

Keep in mind, however, that CJ is probably more interested in getting AGS 3.2 out first, and so it may be a while before any of this actually happens!

Oh. Oh.
Well, if I saw that page earlier I wouldn't ask :)
