I find this utterly interesting and figured anyone around here who hasn't heard of it yet would too. I placed my pre-order today (even though I'm a poor student). You should too!
I've been a Kickstarter supporter of this project for a while now... really looking forward to it!
You Cannot Get Ye Lamp!

Mr. Jake, are you just looking at things in the office and saying that you love them? Do you really love the lamp, or are you just saying it because you saw a lamp?

Yup. And directed by the same director as Get Lamp.
I've been following the development of this documentary for awhile, and saw a sneak preview at PAX East last month. It looks really good. It even has the infamous Howard Sherman (http://www.davelgil.com/wordpress/?p=178) in it.

What a weird coincidence, just a few days ago I was watching BBS: The Documentary after a friend recommended it to me. Very well produced and educational film, and one hell of a nostalgia trip. Then I check out the Get Lamp site and discover it's directed by the same guy! Really makes me look forward to this, and the PAX panel discussion video was a nice teaser.
BTW, tracked down the 1985 TV appearance that Dave Lebling mentioned on the panel (segment starts around 13 min. but it's so hilariously 80's that I recommend watching the whole thing - also includes early LucasFilm games BallBlazer and Rescue on Fractalus):

You saw the PAX edit? I'm jealous!
[EDIT] GG, thanks for the video link. Great stuff!
Thanks a lot guys. I wasted a lot of precious time back then playing IF games and even trying to make my own in Inform. And now, some ten years later you made me remember. I just lost a Saturday downloading and playing Dangerous Curves. Thanks again >:(
Have I said this? STEVE MERETZKY CAMEO AND APPEARANCE ON GET LAMP!!!???
Well, it doesn't get better. :D
dual, I've been in the audience of a panel featuring Steve Meretzky - at GDC in 1997 or thenabouts. It was awesome. I got to shake his hand and everything! :=
PS If you haven't played Superhero League of Hoboken, do it now.

I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder. (I love that movie so much. I hope they never make a sequel to it because it will probably suck).
Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to this movie. I expect to have an acute case of nostalgia after viewing it. (No doubt, I'll be in a glass case of emotion.)
