Title: Great Games - Faulty Computers
Post by: gamemaka on Tue 29/03/2005 08:39:03
Okay, I tried to download Bestowers of Eternity, by Dave. His games are awesome! Anywho, I deleted folders recently in my temp files in LOCALS and so I tried to download it and it couldn't read it's tempory file, but it also said the file was corrupt. Did anyone else get "Corrupt File" when they tried to download "Bestowers of Eternity"?

Hi there,

I just downloaded it myself and it unzipped just fine.  Did you try downloading it a second time?

DAVE! Dave Gilbert replied to my post! This has made my week! You are a great designer! I loved "Two of a Kind"! Anyway, I'm downloading it a second time right now, directly from your website. While I have your attention, I have a question. "Bestowers of Eternity" is going to be a real commercial game? Like to the extent of being in 3D and ridding itself of its point and click engine? It would be so cool to walk into EB games and see it on the shelf.

~~~OK! Update!
The download for BOE, just stopped all of a sudden. I've never had this problem before! Ah! Could the link on your website be faulty? If so, is there another site I can download it from?
Gamemaka: I think DragonRose was just making a joke. She's a 'lil vixen, that one, hehe.
As for the new BoE...
QuoteLike to the extent of being in 3D and ridding itself of its point and click engine?
First off, I don't see why point and click or 2D games aren't REAL commercial games. Anyway, the game will most likely be only be available to order online, unless we come across a really good publisher/distributor, haha. Well, at least, that's the impression I've gotten from Dave.
As for the game itself, it's still 2D, still point and click, and still being made with AGS. Though the entire game was had a plot/audio/visual overhaul, and is looking fabulous so far.
Ha ha.  I wouldn't know to do with a fanboy anyway.  Do you need to take them for walks?  Feed them special food?
Anyrate, BT speaks the truth.  You can read a bit about the new BoE here: http://www.davelgil.com/games/interview.pdf
