Hello guys. My question is: Is it possible to create a "choises-style" like GUI with the AGS scripting language (something like the one we saw in the Walking Dead game series) instead of typical GUIs (Sierra, LucaArts..) and puzzle solving or it is not possible? If yes, has anyone ever tried and succeded?
It's possible and not even too complicated. One of the easiest ways I can think of is a simple dialog where the choices are the dialog lines. Can easily be fancied up, too.
I think it may be even simplier than making average interface based on cursor modes.
E: Sorry, removed game link, for it features different kind of design.

Well, yes. ;-D
Maybe it's time to create a template for such game?;) A lot of younger adventure game fans will come here looking for this sort of experience.
Anyone brave enough?;)
Wait... does not Cat Lady have this kind of interface? :)
Geia sou, Xristo (greeting the topic starter in Greek)
I'm not familiar with the Walking Dead interface, can someone send some sort of video or images explaining how it works?

Yes and no. I think it would be good to add some things to it (like the cool way dialogue options are displayed on the sides of the screen in console version and you choose them by directional keys + timed dialogue).
Back when I got the idea for it The Walking Dead didn't exist yet. It was more based on Quantic Dreams' interface from Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain to be honest. James scripted it and put it together, and between us we made some changes seeing what worked and what didn't (as always some ideas looked good on paper but didn't play well in game).
But I just thought it would be nice to have a template for the AGS people that would work with different resolutions and could be easily customised.
Yes, it is nice but ..... while waiting for a templetate to be made can somebody tell me how to use dialogue choises while a video is played on the background because it looks impossible to me.
If it is complicated or needs some programming, just tell me. I am an artist and writer, not a programmer. And I will never be. I don't want actually. :)
