Title: Has anyone ever made a Loom sequel?
Post by: on Tue 09/12/2003 00:50:10
I was just wondering if there was ever a Loom fan sequel made.  If there wasn't, I would very much like to be part of a team that makes it. I'm not great at background art or programming, but I could do charachters, story, and music. Is anyone else interested?

Hey dude.

As this earlier post shows there's a degree of interest among others, but nothing's ever happened.

Maybe you can talk to some of these fellahs and see what happens.

It would be good to have someone with your talents on board.

In a related note. Lucas arts started to make a loom sequel after the ending of the first, but canceled it just after the planning. (that's why there's a weird open ending)

It would be cool if I could get my hands on that story for part 2.

How about the story of Rusty Nailbender trying to find his guild?

[pssst, Gil, remember the bit where you bring him back from the dead?]

I get the impression that the Rusty storyline was what was envisioned for the sequel. I'm curious about what interface would be used. I think that the flavour that you would be seeking would be compromised by an inventory based system, but evidently, Rusty cannot be a weaver with a distaff.

Spoiler
Pssst, I had played this game a thousand times and yet I didn't remember much of it. I think healing Rusty is an option (which I never know that I really can bring him back to life in my previous 1000 plays!), and Hetchel too (damn I only know that I can resurrect them after i had read a walkthrough downloaded 2 minutes ago).
