Help with Grim Fandango

Yes I know maybe this belongs in the hints and tips area, but since Grim isn't a AGS game, I posted it here, also, if you haven't played Grim you maybe don't want to read the following, anyway;

I've been playing through Grim without cheating until now, when I find myself stuck where Manny has returned to the underground resistance. I have managed to get Manny a new costume, he has been face-painted, he has sent away the bird to that florist, who now is in the monsters lair or something. In the walkthroughs it says that I should place the bone i got from the sprouted agents body into the snowmachine/grinder. I did that to, then it says that I should take the grinder where I put the bone, but I can't! What happens is that the machine starts and fake snow is falling down back-stage.

Probably it's a quite easy mistake I'm doing, but I just can't figure out what! Please help me finish this great game...
