Hi there.

First post and that.

Basically, I'm a fan of Yahtzee's 5 Days a Stranger etc games, and was wondering whether anyone could recommend something similar to these, preferably for free download?

Cheers,

Spann.

Welcome to the boards :) One for a very good atmosphere is Pleurghburg by chrille! I certainly got spooked out by it.

Greetings Adventure Gamers!!! Havent been around this site in a long time and I'm AMAZED at all the great looking games that have risen! I'm wondering though, if someone out there in the big blue cup might direct me towards a great adventure game that has Horror and Mystery elements. I played 5days and 7days, trilby's notes and LOVED them. I was wondering if anyone out there could bring me up to date on something like that! Thanks!

Also it looks like history was rewritten with the credits as well, Vince.  Alex Winter originally had top billing in the movie.  Poor guy ;(

I'm not a fan of horror movies or games in general - and Yahtzee's work was very atmospheric indeed - but one professional (Sorry, you'll have to buy it :D) game that springs to mind is Fahrenheit, aka Indigo Prophecy:

If you didn't mind the text parser interface in Trilby's Notes, I recommend Enclosure. The story structure as well as the atmosphere is very similar to Yahtzee's games.

Now, I've downloaded enclosure, but it doesn't run properly on my PC. The text is all over the place. I have a feeling it's something to do with my Video Card (It can't drop to 320x200, so I have to play AGS in 640x400). Cheers for the reccomendations(sp?) though.

Under "trouble shooting" on the game's website it says:
QuoteKnown problem: Scattered text
Solution: Download the NAGI Interperter (190 KB) & extract the contents of the zip-file into the game directory. Run 'NAGI.exe'.

Ah, of course. You'll have to excuse my ignorance, but I only get access to the 'net at my girlfriend's, so I can't always check stuff out straight away. I'll go and pick that up now though...
