Anyone know what happened to the underdogs?
Looks like they forgot to pay a bill, this is most unhappy!
Yes, very strange.
I must say that i HATE when some well known site gets replaced with some bullshit like "buissines search", "book search"... kind of garbage. >:(
Exactly the same happened with Underdogs a couple of years ago. They forgot to pay the bill and someone snatched theunderdogs.org, forcing them to change to the-underdogs.org

Regarding the current unavailability of the site:
Sarinee Achavanuntakul, in a rare public appearance in IRC, related that this problem is due to credit card details, and the domain would be working soon. In the meantime, the site is accessible at http://209.120.136.195/
What did we do before Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_of_the_Underdogs)?
we were howling savages, poking at computers rising from the primordial quickly soaring into the sky as the supreme information resource in the infosphere! or something like that :P
Well it seems to be back now. Looks like we can breathe again.
Not for me, it isn't.
I noticed yesterday that the RON bit was down, but the main site seemed fine. Now I guess that's gone too. Think they'll be able to get theunderdogs.org back now?
I guess I could also have read about it on her personal blog!
http://www.fringer.org/
But hooray that it's back, but the game I was looking for isn't on there!
What were you looing for, Eric?
Oh no, my homepage is down also. :P
This confirms my theory that the internet is in fact a vast shapeshifting ocean, and no two sites are in the same place twice. There go my chances of finding the grail.
omg ags forums are down too! ¬¬
My site is up, and has been for a long time. ;D

Time Killers. A very dumb 2d fighting game... Don't bother looking for it for me, I don't care anymore, just talking to someone at work about personally definitive 2d fighters from our youths.
Sarinee is awesmoe! I hope she gets her domain name back soon, it would be really nasty for some advert-operant to steal it again.
You know, from the title of this thread, I thought HOTU had produced a Canadian counterpart.
/me likes the fact that people thought his previous post was irony, but it wasn't, since his homepage was hosted by UD also. :=
Yarrrgh! Come back RON! I have things to add to you...
* Trumgottist finds it weird that people are hosted by the slowest server on the web. Surely there must exist better options?

Well, it IS quite the honor to be hosted by HOTU and Sarinee. I wish she would host my games as well.
I went to Underdogs site just now, and it seems to be down, yet again... or did I miss something?
It seems the domain is still unavailable. Use http://209.120.136.195/ instead.
Seems you cant download, though
I think that is because HOTU checks whether the Referer field of the HTTP request is http://www.the-underdogs.net/ ... or something. You would need to use a modified web client, or a (modified?) anonymizer, GET it manually using a telnet client, etc. to work around the problem.
Since the situation is unaltered still I though I would just link you on to the workaround (http://209.120.136.195/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45992&sid=307e0d6855614784ed7cb98e171b90aa) posted on the HOTU forums.
Direct link to the RON page (http://209.120.136.207).
http://www.the-underdogs.info is the new domain name, and it works for me. There's supposed to be trouble with that domain name, so let me know whether it works for you.
Cannot find server, for me. Using MyIE2.
Works fine, using Maxthon (a.k.a. MyIE2)
Grrrrrrrr! I don't know what's going on with this stupid PC. I can't even load Google.
Yet these pages load, and so do other random ones I type.
Edit, tried it with Firefox and this time I got:
Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at www.the-underdogs.info.
Sounds like a connection issue... Something hogging bandwidth, and/or DNS broken.
Haha great, at least my homepage works now.
The problem seems to be that the original HOTU domain name has been paid, but there was an issue with Underdogs's credit card/email combo. Something like that, anyway. 's been a while since I spoke to her and I can't find the email detailing it.
Register.com foobarred that up, but naievely, she registered the .info domain with register.com, and it's not working as it should. So yeah. But she is working on it - she's just on a business trip atm, and after faxing her data over twice in 3 weeks time, and not getting it sorted is frustrating. So yeah.
's what I know.
