Title: How I scare people - My Gamasutra article
Post by: Gord10 on Mon 10/07/2017 17:27:49
Hello everyone!

I've written an article titled "How I scare people (Personal tips for creating horror games)", in which I talked about horror techniques I used in games like Self, Lost in the Nightmare. Some of the headlines are design factors (like "Unknown is the scariest", "Ultimate Evil", "Ending of the story"), which might interest story writers.

Very interesting read :)
I remember I was too scared and disturbed playing "Utopia of a Tyrant" to a point I stopped the game for a moment.

Wonderful read! I learnt a lot that I hope I already knew but might have fallen into the traps if they hadn't been pointed out so clearly.

Especially the "depression meter" point... that was quite profound!

Thanks for sharing this!
