Where can I post some attention that my game is finally done and ready for download so the others would know about it?

And also - which prog. will reduce my game to minimum for download (I mean somethin like ZIP.)

Thanks

some people like zip, some people like rar, some people like ace

in my opinion i think the difference is so small you won't really be shaving off like megabytes so either will do, but the majority of people have ZIP or something that can open it

The best way to call attention to your game is to follow this simple recipe:

First add the severed hand
Second, slowly mix in a masturbating old man, bake to a golden brown and offer it up to Vel....

You'll be getting so much interest in your game it'll be just silly. Silly, I tell you...

Another good rule is to always post screenshots. People love screenshots.

Or start the title of the game with, "Indiana Jones and..."

Step 1: Make it really, really good.
Step 2: Sit back and watch the attention roll in.

disclaimer: Step 1 is super-difficult.

I think the maximum attention you can draw is by simply putting it up for download, and announcing it.  If you have a web site, make it look catchy.  Screenshots are a fantastic way to draw attention, too.  You might also want to consider posting samples of the game's music, if it's a strong point in your game.

If there are screenshots, and they're good, I'm downloading it.

If the description sounds interesting to me, I'll probably download it.
If there are interesting screenshots to back up the interesting description, I'll definetley download it.

1. Call it something like "4 diurnal periods a non-aquaintance" or "221B Baker Street" or  "11111 Aardvarks Attack" to get it at the top of the games list.
2. Pretend to be a female author.
3. Give your female protagonist large hooters.
4. Call yourself Lowe, Schafer, Meretzky or Gilbert.
5. Put in really hard puzzles so there's a dozen hint threads.
6. Keep replying to your announcement thread to get it to the top of the list, preferably under assumed names.
7. Send free CDs to reviewers such as Vel.
8. Bribe said reviewers with free meals or hard cash.
9. Spam all the other threads with intelligent responses, but hyping your game in your signature.
10. Errr...
11. That's it.
