Title: How to find a programmer?
Post by: yourhumblecartoonist on Sun 03/07/2005 03:25:17
So I'm trying to get together a team for a game I'm designing based on my webcomic.Ã,  I plan on doing the backgrounds and animations myself, and I have two friends in town who will be covering the writing and music.Ã,  Which leaves me conspiciously short of a programmer.Ã,  But I scanned the "offering services" thread and didn't see one recent post by a programmer, so I'm wondering if I'm ever going to find one.Ã,  Are there just programmer floating around out there who aren't attached to any teams and want to join a project, or would I just be wasting my time?Ã,  If it isn't, I have sketches and a pretty detailed outline that I could post, but would I be wasting my time?Ã,  And if so, where am I going to find a programmer?

Well, you looked through the "offering services" thread at the top of this page, but did you leave a post in the "Need help with your game" thread?

Well, I'm not really looking right now; I need to get all my ducks in a row before I start soliciting for programmers online.Ã,  What I was wondering is are decent programmers going to be available, generally?Ã,  It seems like there's a glut of artists and voice actors, but I imagine it would be harder to find someone to do that hard stuff, but then I'm new to all this AGS stuff.

I'm programmer in c/c++/asm and the c-like aspect of the scripting language used for the ags engine makes it really easy for me.

I love the comic you did, it made me laugh a lot!! So if you need help for the scripting of your game, you can PM me anytime ;)

This is all good and well, but we still must urge people to use the designated threads, or send pm's. This forum simply isn't intended for personal advertising.
