Looking for a musician

I'm currently working on a graphical version of an IF game called Anchorhead, with the original author's permission. I've found an artist (you may recall the thread I posted here a while ago, looking for one), and now I'd like to find someone to compose the original score, either in midi, wave or MP3.

At the time, there isn't much to show for it - progress it going slowly, but definitively surely. Anyone interested can contact me, and I'll supply both a screenshot of the main menu and an example of how the game's interface would work (which was very fun to code, and it's not at all conventional. AT least, I don't think so. Even though it IS based on Sierra's "iconic" approach.)

I understand that most people here are not musicians. Even so, if you know of a better place to look for them, please tell me. I'm looking for them in this early stage so all three of us (me, Michael - the artist - and the musician) can work on the thing together, to avoid that sense that the music was added to "fill in the blanks".

Any reply at all is deeply appreciated, because I know it will be both relevant and helpful.

I know this is stupid of me to ask, but do you have the author's permission in writing? You'll want to get it in writing, although you probably already know that.

Interesting! Anchorhead is one of those games that I intend to play one day, since it's always mentioned along with the other greats. It'll be interesting to see how your version will measure up to it, and I like that you've got permission from Michael Gentry and are not simply bastardising it.

Geoffkhan - Yes, I've got it in writing. It's just an informal e-mail, but it's there.

Trumgottist - I'll PM you soon, you're the second person I've heard from already. I'm glad that I'm getting such feedback so quickly! And it's not out of the question that I get more than one person, so as to work together.

I'd be happy to work on something like this if you want.....

I work primarily in midi (coz I just love that kinda corny sound you get) but if I EVER get my mp3 software working again (hopefully near future, like next two/three weeks) I'll be able to work in... wait for it... MP3!!!

If you can post a screenshot, I can whip up something with the feel your after and post it as a kind of 'test hearing'.

Ok, I've got three people interested, and at least one of them has got my full attention, so I think I can safely close the thread. Thomas, Trumgottist and Ghormak - you are in overt competition, unless you decide you want to work together, both of you (yes, both - three people is too many, and you know what they say about too many cooks in the kitchen...).
