Hi all! er... I was just wondering, what exactly would it take for an AGS developer to have his/her work displayed at the IGF?
Personally, I believe AGS has earned her right to be heard all the world over.
So, what say ye then? ;)
Hehe I think you need to elaborate more on what is the IGF, since not all people here knew what it is (me neither). Or at least post a link to it.
Anyway, Google comes to the rescue. (http://www.igf.com/)
There already is/are AGS game(s) listed there, near the top of the game list is this (http://www.himalayastudios.com/), which is an AGS game.
I'm too lazy to check further down the list to see if there're other AGS games.
It looks like anyone can submit a game, of course, the cash prize probably wouldn't be won unless it was of a very high standard :) A lot of IGFers seem to make their own engines and games, but as Gilbot pointed out - there are some AGS games listed.
I've been thinking about it, and if you want your game to stand out at the IGF, it must have:
1) Quality
2) Most importantly, very original and rich gameplay.
Basically, if you submit an adventure game with a great story but same old same old on the gameplay, it might be accepted but will probably not be celebrated.
I think saturday school could win, Edmundo.
You got my vote! (I'm not registered, though)
