I consider the 9-Verb-Gui as clumsy and not very user-friendly. Personally I prefer a Left-Click = interact, Right-Click = look gui.
I was wondering how people would react to an Indiana Jones Fan Game without a 9-Verb-Gui. Would it violate expectation too much?
I don't think GUI really factors a lot into how people will enjoy the game. I definitely prefer 9-verb to verbcoin, but if the game is simplified so that it only really requires a 2-click system, that's how it is.
I don't think anyone would be too upset by an indie game with a two-click interface. I certainly wouldn't! ;-D
As long as I can enjoy it mainly by pointing and clicking with the mouse I am fine (http://www.smilies.4-user.de/include/Computer/smilie_pc_137.gif)
Well, if simplified GUI in an Indy game (pun intended) is a heresy, then Fate of Atlantis is the ultimate heresy against itself (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMp70vd7yP0)! :)

I don't get it, I'm afraid. Fate of Atlantis has a 9-Verb-Gui.
Watch the link I gave from about 0:50 till 9:00 or so.
OK, but that's just the intro.
