What art programs are you using?

Hi everyone.  I've been out of adventure making for a while.  I tried learning AGS quite a few years ago but didn't finish up.  The truth is, most of the great indy games get made with AGS.  There are so many games to play here that are really good.
Anyway, I'm getting started again going through the tutorial and doing some artwork.  The program I'm the most impressed with is Krita.  Part of it is because I'm familiar with it.  I was wondering what others are using.  I'm sure this has been posted before, but I wanted to see what current developers are using.  Hopefully it's not worn out and I don't get scolded or anything.

I use Krita for the animation in Old Skies and also general compositing of VFX and things that need animated layers and masks. I use Clip Studio Paint for all digital painting - finally ditched Photoshop in favour of it a couple of years ago. Aseprite for pixel work. Moho for very specific 2D animation things and Blender for all sorts of odd jobs like VFX and the like.

I'm not at a professional level, but here's my input. In general I use Inkscape for general background layout. I've started using Spriter Pro for animations. And I use Gimp for the rest. I use Inkscape because it does vector graphics and is easier to figure out angles and such for me. I've started using Spriter because it uses bones and keyframes. Blender can do the same things, I've just not learned how to use the 2D side of it. And I use Gimp simply because it's free and the graphics program I'm most familiar with.

I typically use PaintDotNET for most things, and occasionally Deluxe Paint II Enhanced for its dithering effects.

ProMotion NG has a lot of the same dithering effects as Deluxe Paint (plus some that Deluxe Paint doesn't have), but I really like the particular pattern Deluxe Paint has. I think it's the result of optimization making the dithering effect imperfect.

If you're looking for recommendations though, I'd suggest Aseprite. It's a really good tool for pixel artists. I'm just too stuck in my ways to make proper use of it.
