Title: Is there a Sierra 'Scummvm' equivilant?
Post by: DanClarke on Sat 16/04/2005 18:02:47
Id quite like to play some of the older sierra games on my mac (OSX) and scummvm does a superb job with the lucas games, but im just wondering if anybody knows of a good program to run sierra games with the ease and perfect (or close to) emulation that Scummvm has? It would also have to have a Macintosh build.

There isn't one specifically sierra engine that will play them all (and I can't find a mac port of the ones that exist), but you could try Dosbox... it's played every sierra game I've tried, don't know how good it runs on a Mac.

I'm suprised at how well dosbox works! And there is a Mac OS X build... good luck!

There are a couple in eternal beta, but nothing anywhere near as effective as SCUMMVM currently is.

One of them is called FreeSCI. Dig that up if you want to.

Hmm, this gives me an idea. Let's make a scummvm like program that's called SVEN (Sierra Virtual Emulator of Neatness). ;D
Back on topic, I use DosBox for Sierra games. It's good, it's free and it's retroness. ;)
