Does anyone know of isometric adventure made with AGS?
A friend indeed :D

... isnt isometric
I dont think that there have been any made with AGS, probably because the characters have to be drawn at a certain angle and it is hard to master
There was in the works a while ago... I can't quite remember what it was called, but I recall it looked REALLY good. It was set in an office building...
A game in production: DEvco Quest (http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?topic=10114.0)

Somewhere ... Darth Mandarb is blushing ...
Thanks!Ã, I originally started
A Friend Indeed as isometric, but quickly realized it's harder to work with than planometric.Ã, But James'
DevcoQuest had soooo much promise.Ã, I haven't seen him about lately though.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that it's still in development!
whoa.. I was right? I expected someone to post calling me a f00 -_-;
I'm still alive, and so is Devco Quest, somewhere in a forgotten folder on my stuffed harddisk.
It's 85% done. All it needs is the rest of the non-puzzle descriptions (use x with y type stuff) and save/load functionality and it's good to go. 13 orso rooms. Bags of puzzles. Loads of art.
However... I can't seem to make myself do it.
Work is busy (and getting busier). I got a side-project going after hours. I'm also supplying Steve "IIISpy" McCrea with art for another AGS project. Plus I need my standard number of hours of telly and games every week. Not to mention sleep.
But seeing as some people seem to really be looking forward to it, I guess I should brace myself for that last push.

if its only the discriptions and stuff you could see if any of the funny guys about the forums wanted to do that part, then once that is done you could finish the save load when you have time.

If you don't want to call it parallelometric, like I suggested, then fine, but at least don't call it planometric! :)
Later today I'll start an educational thread in the critics explaning it all

Thanks for the idea, but it's not the writing of the descriptions that's a problem (I hope) but inputting it all.
Use inv. item 1 with object 1 = funny or relevant reply
Use inv. item 7 with object 31 = funny or relevant reply
There are about 25 inventory items, and a hell of a lot of objects/hotspots, so you can imagine it's more a scripting Task of Hell than anything else.Ã, Ã, >:(
I meant actually get someone to put them in aswell :) it shouldnt get in the way of your script too much as it shouldnt be dotted around everywhere.
Sylpher's iso game (http://www.sylpher.com/ISO.zip). Think it's only a demo though, can't remember, it's been awhile since I played it.
Hey James!!Ã, It's good to know it's still floating around!Ã, I'd love to see it someday.Ã, I also know what art you're doing for Steve and I anticipate that project very much as well!Ã, (as I was originally involved in a small capacity :))

Oh .... I thought you
did call it planometric (didn't look back in the thread)!Ã, Parallelometric is fine with me too!
Darth Mandarb's ammendment:I originally started A Friend Indeed as isometric, but quickly realized it's harder to work with than
planometric parallelometric.
:)
Yes, I recognise the difference, and it's not only matter of terms. I thought of something like fallout or diablo.

Now
this is not a bad idea at all! It'd be useful for potential background artiststo know all the different "styles" of technical drawing (to at least a basic level), such as one & two (& possibly three) point perspective, isometric, planometric, & even oblique (though whether that last one could actually be used is debatable). From there, people can make their own choice what to use AND name it correctly!
I look forward to this new educational thread *does that thing where you clasp your hands together & grin in an almost evil manner*
Also, is "parallelometric" a real thing? I have never heard of it, but presumably you have done technical drawing to a higher level than I...
