Afflict

Wow looks great only two colors. Well i think shadows pretty much stay the same and Loomis gives very accurate ways of these formulas and technique in calculating them.

thanx Creed Malay, thanx Afflict, and thanx Trumgottist. I'll be posting a higher res (640/480) pic, for you people who want that.

Hi, lo_res_man.

I really like this b/w-style. You've managed to give them a lot atmosphere. Onyl thing that stands out is the bright side of that obelisk, that in fact is in the shadow of the ziggurat. But that's probably intended.

cheers

You might want to look at some comic book inking tutorials.

These two are really aimed at someone working with pen and ink, but they're good examples of how to use light and shadow in monochrome.

Nice background. I like the edges and harshness of this one. Although I prefered the obelisk before you changed it.

lo_res_man

how about I move the obelisk, somewere else? that way no shadow problems and I can keep my style. I can't for a while though, computers down. :'(

I don't think you need to move it. I wouldn't even worry much about exactness of the shading in a style that's this polarized. Just my 2 cents.

Desmond

I saw this and thought of your project... maybe it will inspire you:

(It does have a bit of grey, but it's definitely not "greyscale.")

lo_res_man

My thanx! Yes it is very inspiring! I just love some of those buildings. Many thanx indeed, friend Desmond!
